Grand Caster (グランドキャスター, Gurando Kyasutā?), The Pinnacle of Mages (魔術師の頂に立つもの?)[1], is one of the seven Grand Servant classes.
Characteristics
One of the common characteristics of this Class is that they possess all-seeing Clairvoyance on the level of Solomon, Merlin, and Gilgamesh.[2] A Mage will never be considered the zenith of magi, the highest ranked, unless they possess this "eye," no matter the magnitude of their Magic Circuit or the potency of their magic formula.[3]
While Gilgamesh's Clairvoyance is given as an example of Grand Caster qualification, it is not stated if he qualifies. Archer Gilgamesh states that he is not a Grand Servant during the Final Singularity, but the exact context of what he is stating is unclear.[4]
After the Ordeal Call in Fate/Grand Order, Chaldea Security Organization obtains the ability to grant any Caster-class Servant the position of Grand Caster by obtaining the Grand Caster Grand Graph after defeating Pseudepigrapha Solomon in a Grand Duel. In the prior cutscene before the Grand Duel with Pseudepigrapha Solomon, he lists several Servants by titles that are capable Magi but who are fundamentally mistaken on what is means to be a Grand Caster, of which he believes only he truly knows as the mightiest magus who can summon the strongest familiars. These titles are the "dream-weaver who does nothing but talk", the "sham xian who claims to stand among the gods", the "queen of snowy fields", and the "ruined saviour".

Notes
- ↑ In LB7, there is a game fight where U-Olga Marie fights the seven Grand Servants. The gameplay scene is meant to serve as an interactive representation of the dream where U-Olga Marie regains some of her memories prior to being attacked by Kukulkan and Tezcatlipoca. The seven Grand Servants featured in Gameplay are: Grand Saber Artoria Avalon, Grand Lancer Romulus-Quirinus, Grand Archer Super Orion, Grand Rider Taigong Wang, Grand Caster Merlin, Grand Assassin First Hassan, and Grand Berserker Tezcatlipoca. However, these game enemies are only placeholders for the actual Grand Servants that Olga defeated. For example, First Hassan, Super Orion, and Romulus Quirinus had all discarded their Grand Servant status prior to that fight. Furthermore, Kinoko Nasu explains that Tezcatlipoca appearing as Grand Berserker was just a hint that he had held that rank prior to King Hassan stepping down. Artoria Avalon being Grand Saber was also discarded in the LB6 storyboard.
