Lancelot (ランスロットWP, Ransurotto?), Class Name Saber (セイバー, Seibā?), is a Saber-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order.
Profile
Identity
Appearance
Just like his Berserker counterpart, Lancelot is a robust man, fully clad in armor. However, instead of black, his armor is of lustrous dark slate blue or deep purple color, with veils and pieces of gold throughout. His sword, Arondight, however, possesses the same color and appearance to Berserker's sword. His eyes are a light purple and his hair is of the same color. Said hair is incredibly spiky and parted over to the left. It is very short compared to the length of his Berserker counterpart's, suggesting this is a younger version of Lancelot. His skin colour also possesses a minor tan.
In his second Ascension, his purple armor becomes glittering white. Six blue tassels are now attached to the back of his armor, with golden cross-shaped pendants on the other hand. Arondight's colors change: the edges become the same white as his armor, the mid-section and guard turn bright gold, and the hilt turns blue.
In his third Ascension, the tassels go from blue to white, and Lancelot now wears a blue cape with golden trims.

Personality
In his condition, summoned under the Saber Class is the closest to his original form. Caring for justice, honoring women, loathing evil - this virtuous figure overflowing with romance was acknowledged as the "ideal knight" by King Arthur.[2]
|
« A noble knight? Don't make me laugh. I participated in the destruction of Britain! » |
| (Lancelot) |
Lancelot himself probably feels more than anyone else that it is an irony for him to be a Saber. And thus Lancelot is convinced that the most appropriate Class for himself is Berserker.[2]

Role
Fate/Grand Order
Camelot/Zero
Lancelot, along with the other Knights of the Round Table, is summoned by the Lion King in the "Camelot" Singularity. The Lion King gives them the choice to either aid her in her "Holy Selection" or side against her, giving them a half a day to decide. Lancelot, although he was loathe to admit it, realizes that the Lion King is making the best out of a bad situation, deciding to side with her, along with Gawain, Agravain, Tristan, Gareth, and Mordred. They then kill their former comrades and form the Knights of the Lion King. He receives the Gift of "Ferocity" from the Lion King, due to vowing to ascertain the situation as a person, not martyring himself to justice.
The group sets out to the Holy Land, slaughtering any who side against them there and engaging the False Crusaders in battle. They easily defeat the Crusaders, except their leader, the Servant who claims to be Richard I. He manages to hold off the knights, possessing immense power. Finally, Gareth sacrifices herself by restraining their opponent using her own body, giving the Knights the opportunity to deal the final blow. Despite understanding Gareth's noble act of sacrifice, Lancelot is unable to move his body to attack, not wanting to once more do the deed. Instead, Gawain manages to deal the lethal strike, killing both Gareth and their opponent. The Lion King and her knights thus take control of the Holy Land, establishing the Holy City.[5]
Camelot: Sacred Round Table Realm
Lancelot continues the Holy Selection of Lion King, but unlike the other Knights of the Lion King, Lancelot is not completely loyal to the Lion King. He hides away the people that are not fit for the city, instead of killing them, as the others presume. When Chaldea arrives in the Singularity, Lancelot is away from the city, currently returning from a mission. The Hassan of the Cursed Arm mentions that he had killed the Hassan of the Quaking Pipe at some point.
Lancelot chases after the Chaldea group on the orders of the Lion King. Da Vinci stays behind, giving the group time to escape, while she seemingly sacrifices herself.[6] However, Lancelot instead saves her and takes her to his hideout.
Later on, Lancelot and Tristan lead an attack against the Western Village, with Lancelot cutting down Arash, though he fails to kill him. He is later shocked when the Lion King utilizes Rhongomyniad to destroy the village.[7] Later, when Lancelot and Tristan are being questioned about their mission by the Lion King and her knights, he questions why she used the Holy Spear, believing it to be an excessive measure. Lion King, however, explains that due to her Holy Selection being so close to completion, angering the Mountain Villages doesn't matter anymore, though Lancelot is unsatisfied with this answer. After hearing about the Chaldea group heading towards the Egyptian territory, Agravain blames Lancelot and declares him to be imprisoned, but Lancelot instead suggests chasing after the group. Lion King allows him to do so, with Lancelot heading away quickly.[8]
Lancelot and his forces manage to catch up with Chaldea, who are searching for the Atlas Institute. The Chaldea group, Ritsuka Fujimaru, Mash Kyrielight, Bedivere, Xuanzang Sanzang and Tawara Touta, attempt to fight Lancelot, but are overpowered by him. However, they manage to escape, falling into the Atlas through the ground. Later as they emerge, they once again face Lancelot. The group then informs Lancelot of the Lion King's true plan to store the people of the Holy City into the Holy Spear to "protect" them from the Human Order Incineration, kept as her ideal samples of humanity. Though Lancelot is shaken by this, he refuses to oppose the Lion King. However this causes Mash, influenced by her connection to Galahad, to become enraged by Lancelot's behavior and she manages to defeat him in battle, though Sanzang states that he had been fighting reluctantly. After his defeat Lancelot agrees to help the group, deciding to bring them to his hideout, where the group reunite with Da Vinci.[7]
Lancelot helps Chaldea in their struggle against the Lion King, accompanying on their quest to Ozymandias' territory and helping in formulating the strategy for the final battle against the Lion King's forces. He participates in the final battle, leading his knight forces alongside Chaldea against the forces of the Holy City. He battles against Agravain, who manages to defeat Lancelot, though he is grievously injured.[9]
Halloween Event: Halloween Comeback! Super Ultra ☆ Giant Pumpkin Village
Tristan and Lancelot serve as Cleopatra's knights. By her command, they expel Lancer Elizabeth and Caster Elizabeth from Castle Csjete.
They later report to Cleopatra that Chaldea has come like she predicted. Lancelot asks Cleopatra if they should take care of Chaldea now. Cleopatra answers she'll send her knights into town instead to keep the citizens from panicking. But she won't send Lancelot and Tristan there, knowing they'll only hit on the local girls. Lancelot tries to deny it but gets excited when Tristan mentions a broken-hearted girl at one of the taverns.
Lancelot reports that Nitocris has joined with Elizabeth to Cleopatra's shock. Cleopatra tries to think of a plan, but Tristan's compliments annoy her, so she tells him to jump out the window. Tristan does as told, using soundwaves to fly. Afterward, Cleopatra declares she is deploying "those girls" to the Lava Zone, ignoring Lancelot's concerns about them.
Tristan and Lancelot later confront Elizabeth's party in town. Lancelot, however, disguises him in black armor to presumably avoid ill attention from Mash. Tristan tries to ask him what's wrong, but Lancelot puts Tristan in a sleeper hold and tells him to shut up. Elizabeth's party then proceed to defeat the two knights. Though they lost, Tristan and Lancelot are glad to see that Elizabeth has matured after she announces Halloween can be celebrated again. They then try to quietly escape, but Ibaraki-douji hits them in the direction of the pyramid with her Noble Phantasm.
When Elizabeth's party arrives in the castle, Tristan asks Lancelot what he did to Mash to get such menacing looks from her. Lancelot answers he cannot remember and assumes it's only a misunderstand, so he's sure Mash will calm down. He and Tristan then guide the group to the throne room.
Final Singularity: Solomon
Lancelot is amongst the "Camelot" Singularity Servants to aid Chaldea against the Demon Gods Pillars.[10]
Avalon le Fay: Fae Round Table Domain
While Fujimaru and Mashu are ineffectively fighting against Demon Hound Barghest, Lancelot and Gawain are summoned in order to assist them. Thanks to Britain that it has both of their names inscribed, they are able to be summoned.
Other appearances
He made a cameo in Fate/Apocrypha anime along with the Knights of the Round Table in Kairi Sisigou's dream.[11]
He and the Knights of the Round Table appear briefly in Lord El-Melloi II Case Files when Gray deactivates the Restraints of the Round Table on Rhongomyniad.[12]
Abilities
Being a Knight of the Round Table, Lancelot is one of the greatest knights to ever live and a hero sung of in legends. As such, when summoned as a Servant, he boasts indisputable fame and strength.[13] In Lancelot's case, he was born with numerous abilities and aptitudes that took him beyond the realm of "high-spec" right into "completely overpowered".[14] "The Knight of the Lake" earned a huge reputation thanks to the great deeds he committed when he was alive, such as when he fought Gawain while empowered by the Sun for several hours until wounding and defeating him at nightfall.[15] Due to this, Lancelot is famed as the strongest of the Knights of the Round Table,[14] with a competency that surpasses even King Arthur.[1] However, Gawain is widely considered by many to be equal or superior to him.[15][16] As a Heroic Spirit, his most fitting and proper Class is Saber, as it encapsulates the noble knight he was in life, although he feels it is ironic for him to be a Saber as he doesn't consider himself a noble knight due to his perceived participation in the destruction of Britain, believing the Berserker class is most appropriate for himself.[2] In this form, he's not receiving the boost of Mad Enhancement, but in exchange, he has access to abilities he does not possess as a Berserker, such as the ability Knight of the Lake, which allows him to add a + modifier to any desired stat with the exception of LCK.
Despite his armor, Lancelot is fairly adept at concealing his presence.[7]
Skills
Class Skills
- Magic Resistance (B Rank): Cancel spells with a chant below three verses. Even if targeted by greater magecraft and Greater Rituals, it is difficult for them to be affected.[1][2]
- Riding (B Rank): Most vehicles and animals can be handled with above average skill, even vehicles that did not exist in the time period one was alive in, for they are no exception. However, cannot ride the likes of Phantasmal Species such as Monstrous Beasts.[1][2]
Personal Skills
- Knight of the Lake (A Rank): He was raised from infancy by the Lady of the Lake. Due to that, he is constantly affected by her blessing. Using this skill, he is able to temporarily add a + to any parameter other than Luck (substantially doubling them).[1][2]
- Eternal Arms Mastery (A+ Rank): Mastership of combat arts has reached the point of being said to be unrivaled in one's era. By complete the merging of mind, body, and technique, it is possible to make use of full fighting skills even when under the influence of any sort of mental hindrance.[1][2]
- Knight of Owner (A+/A++ Rank): An ability Noble Phantasm that grants the attribute to everything he holds, resulting in them becoming so-called "Pseudo Noble Phantasms". Be it an iron pole or an aircraft fighter, it will be treated as a Rank D Noble Phantasm, even though it is considered a Pseudo Noble Phantasm, or Pseudo Phantasm for short.[1][2]
- Protection of the Spirits (A Rank): A blessing from Elementals; the capacity to increase one's Luck in dangerous situations. Activation is limited to battlefields, where it is possible to perform feats of arms.[1]
Noble Phantasms
Lancelot wields Arondight, a Divine Construct, and counterpart of Excalibur. When Lancelot uses this Noble Phantasm, all of his parameters are increased by one rank. Furthermore, due to the anecdote him killing a dragon, it deals additional damage against Heroic Spirits with Dragon attributes.[1] Despite the great power granted by this holy sword, Lancelot is unable to match Agravain boosted by a drug similar to Mad Enhancement and is ultimately defeated by him, although not without mortally wounding his foe in the process.[9]
Lancelot can also release a powerful attack with this sword named Arondight Overload. Originally a Noble Phantasm used against an Army, Lancelot instead chooses to use it as a concentrated slash of mana. Due to the usage method being different from its original, it puts an intense burden on Lancelot's body.[1] When used against Arash in a sneak attack, it is able to gravely injure him and send him down to the bottom of the valley they were on, however, thanks to Arash's Robust Health, the attack wasn't a decisive blow as he had enough energy left to fire his Noble Phantasm.[7]
Development
Creation and Conception
Lancelot was illustrated by Shima Drill in Fate/Grand Order.[1][2] His scenario writers are Yuuichirou Higashide and Kinoko Nasu in Fate/Grand Order.[1]
Comment from Illustrator
"It came up in previous discussions where the white armor version of Zero Lancelot takes off his helmet and shows us his long hair during second ascension; when he gets to that form I wanted to draw a rough design, but then I was told to do him "with a feeling of a yankee who repents and cut off his hair". So I had the various design, his armor, and his hair taken out, and the result settled down to his current form. Please stay as a father who will never raise his head to his daughter."

One of the major knights mentioned in the Arthurian legends and often thought to be King Arthur's nephew.
A knight said to be equal of Sir Lancelot, Gawain was frequently at odds with Lancelot due to his slaying of both of Gawain's brothers. Although pure of heart and loyal beyond question, it was Gawain's all-consuming hatred that not only led to him being stripped of his knighthood, but also led to the downfall of King Arthur himself.
Although his hostility inevitably led to his death at the hands of Sir Lancelot, he realized that it was his own lack of virtue that led to Sir Lancelot's betrayal and the defeat of King Arthur at the battle of Camlann Hill.
Up until his death, Sir Gawain was considered a paragon of knighthood; chivalrous, loyal, and gallant. Even as King Arthur became a legend, Gawain was content to stay in the background, doing his duty regardless of whether his efforts were acknowledged or not. In reward for his gallantry and loyalty to Arthur, as well as his eventual forgiveness of Sir Lancelot, Gawain was resurrected as a Legendary Soul and, freed from the sins of the past, has once again reclaimed his role as the "Knight of the Sun."
02 - "The White Knight of the Round Table."
The White Knight of the Round Table.
Widely considered to be equal of King Arthur by many and the wielder of the lesser-known holy sword Galatine, Sir Gawain was fiercely loyal to the king, or more accurately, the King's station. Unlike Sir Bedivere, a trusted friend of Arthur's who wished only that he would find peace and contentment, Gawain's only concern was that Arthur maintain the throne of Britain.
If King Arthur was seen as the personification of the moon, then Sir Gawain was the harbinger of the sun. He was frequently compared with Arthur, although Gawain himself ignored these comparisons and devoted himself to serving his king to the best of his abilities. Though loyal to the end, his irrational hatred of Sir Lancelot proved to be his and Arthur's undoing.
Though Arthur eventually forgave his wayward knight's transgressions, Sir Gawain could not find it within himself to do the same until the very last moments of his life and only after being stripped of his knighthood, excommunicated from the church, and causing the downfall of his sovereign king.
With his dying breath, he swore that if he was ever given a second chance at life, he'd support his king, no matter what. Upon being reincarnated as a Servant, Gawain devotes himself completely to the goals of his Master and by doing so hopes to gain absolution for the sins of the past.01 - 人物背景
