HuitzilopochtliWP (ウィツィロポチトリWP, Witsiropochitori?) is a god from Aztec Mythology. During the events of the South American Lostbelt, he appears as an unknown-class Stray Servant under the alias Dinosaur King (恐竜王?). He is the king of the deinos of Chichén Itzá and a proxy Lostbelt King appointed by Kukulkan.
Profile
Background
Huitzilopochtli is an Aztec tribal god of war. He was also regarded as an incarnation of the sun.[1][2] Furthermore, he was a god who demanded countless human sacrifices as fuel with which to move the sun. This has led to some people claiming that he was actually the god Tezcatlipoca from Maya mythology before the Aztec people adopted him. In fact, Huitzilopochtli is Blue Tezcatlipoca (青のテスカトリポカ?), one of its four aspects. On the other hand, it is said that he wields the fiery snake Xiuhcoatl as a weapon. Due to this, he is considered Quetzalcoatl's enemy.[1]
Huitzilopochtli is best known for having led the Aztec people to Metztliapan: The Lake of the Moon. There, they constructured a city called Tenochtitlan to worship Tlaloc and him.[1] For this reason, Blue Tezcatlipoca is regarded as the god of paradise, who safeguards the city, and approves of rest.[3]
Appearance
In Aztec mythology, Huitzilopochtli was said to have blue arms and legs.[1]
Personality
Huitzilopochtli has a great fondness for teasing Quetzalcoatl.[3]
Role
Fate/Grand Order
Nahui Mictlan: Golden Sea of Trees
Summoned by the Black Tezcatlipoca, the Blue aspect is sent to preside over the Deinos. This is to maintain Tezcatlipoca's impartiality in the coming conflicts against the Black Tezcatlipoca's uplifted Ocelomeh. Kukulkan encounters him and, with threat of force, declares him the Dinosaur King, giving him recognized authority over the Deinos and serving as the proxy Lostbelt King. He presides over them from the city of Chichen Itza in the third layer, watching their xokta ritual games.
Ritsuka and Mash first encounter the King in the outskirts of Chichen Itza, where he guns down a group of ocelomeh prowling for deinos to kill. Although he takes a shot at them, he stands down when they refuse to fight back.
The following day, he runs into Fujimaru and Mash again when the two disguised themselves as deinos using Magecraft and won the xokta tournament to earn an audience with him. Despite the protestations of Vucub, he grants them their request to cross into the fifth layer. Although he would have ordered for their executions to protect Mictlan, he has Fujimaru empty their pockets first. Fujimaru reveals the sugar skull they obtained from his Black counterpart, indicating that they are currently undergoing Black Tezcatlipoca's trial and thus unable to be interfered with. The Dinosaur King freely reveals to Chaldea his True Name as Tezcatlipoca and helps them reach the crash site of the Storm Border by ordering the warrior guards to open the way for them. Although he is from Proper Human History, the King remains staunch in his stance of protecting the Deinos and Mictlan due to his fondness for dinosaurs.
When the Ocelomeh lay siege to Chichen Itza, Dinosaur King goads Izcalli into shooting him, allowing the latter to move the sun of Mictlan from Chichen Itza to Mexico City. Although Izcalli claims to have shredded him apart with his guns, the Dinosaur King ultimately survived and regenerated.[4][5]
As the awakened ORT approached Chichen Itza, he talked the remaining deinos into going out in a blaze of glory instead of sitting around the ruins and waiting for their extinction, bringing up the inspiring stories of Proper Human History relayed to them by Ritsuka Fujimaru. He watches them obtain weapons from Koyanskaya of Light and observes their valiant yet futile charge against the alien saucer. He exchanges a few words with Kukulkan before disappearing, having served his purpose in sending the deinos to war.[6]
Abilities
- Immortality: Huitzilopochtli is immortal, however, other fellow Tezcatlipoca's are able to bypass this invulnerability. In Black's own words, "only Tezcatlipoca can defeat Tezcatlipoca." This is how Izcalli, the new Tezcatlipoca, was able to shoot him down, destroying his entire body, excluding his head.[4][5][6]
- Regeneration: After having his entire body destroyed, Huitzilopochtli was able to regenerate it, however, it took a few days to repair it completely.[6]
