Kirschtaria Wodime (キリシュタリア・ヴォーダイム, Kirishutaria Vōdaimu?) is one of the seven Crypters, Masters attempting to supplant the Proper Human History with that of the Lostbelt in Fate/Grand Order: Cosmos in the Lostbelt. He is the Master of Lancer Caenis, Saber Dioscuri, and unknown-class Atlas. He was formerly one of forty eight Chaldea Master Candidates and a member of Team A.
Profile
Background
Kirschtaria Wodime was born into a thousand years old Magi lineage and is the head of the Wodime family. Kirstcharia was noted to have had a terrible relationship with his father due to his immense natural abilities and powers as a magus far overshadowing his own that resulted in him becoming jealous and paranoid of Kirschtaria. Kirschtaria’s overwhelming talent and immense potential eventually caused his grandfather, the then head of the Wodime family, to pick him as his immediate successor and heir of the family, completely skipping over his own son, with Kirschtaria being arranged to take over as head after a few years after his 15th birthday. This eventually resulted in his father trying to have him assassinated sometime in his teens, that although unsuccessful, did end up permanently damaging his Magic Circuits.[3] However despite this normally crippling injury inflicted on him that would have destroyed most magus's ability to perform magecraft, Kirstcharia still retained his immense ability and latent talent in the art and was still deemed to be one of the best in the world and he was considered one of the most talented magi of his generation.[4]
When Kirschtaria was fifteen years old he often crossed the bridge where Pino lived in his commute to and from the Department of Spiritual Evocation. Pino would see the young genius crossing the river, but Kirschtaria didn't even acknowledge him. When Kirschtaria's father tried to have him assassinated and he fell into the river, Pino saved him and brought him into his shack. Being a spoiled noble Kirschtaria was initially put off by the homeless orphan, but Pino nursed him to health the best he could, feeding him from his reserves of stale bread and keeping them hidden from Kirschtaria's enemies with his Mystic Code.[5]
After several weeks Pino had run out of food and left to get more, but left his amulet behind to keep Kirschtaria's location concealed. Without his amulet he was seen when stealing a basket of fresh rolls and was brutally beaten by who he stole it from. Though he returned to give Kirschtaria the food, Pino died soon after from a combination of the beatings and his own malnutrition.[5] Though Kirschtaria never even learned his name, the selfless display of kindness that Pino had shown Kirschtaria had a significant effect on him, dramatically changing his worldview for the better.[5]
He was the Chairman of the Clock Tower's Department of Astromancy[4] and was said to be the jewel of the Clock Tower.[6] Kirschtaria was the top disciple of Astromancy's Lord, Marisbury Animusphere, and was said to be a better successor as a Lord than Olga Marie Animusphere. He followed Marisbury into joining Chaldea Security Organization and became one of the forty eight Chaldea Master Candidates. Kirschtaria was chosen to be Team A's leader. Kirschtaria plans to summon a Lancer-class Servant.[4]
Appearance
Kirschataria is a young man with long blonde hair and blue eyes.
He mostly wears white regal clothes, with a long coat and feather ornament. He also brings a strange looking cane/staff.
Personality
At first he appears to have some signs of elitism, but there is a valid logic behind the imagined future he leads people towards. He may look like a cold and composed aristocratic scion, but actually he treats people kindly and never imposes his authority on others.[2]
He’s confident without being arrogant and cool-headed without being cold-blooded. Although he can be called the greatest traitor ever in the eyes of the humanity up to the year 2017, ultimately his goals and ideals are beneficial to humanity and undeniably a great turning point towards the future.[2]
During the events of Olympus it is revealed that he is actually a very kind and warm-hearted man as a result of his early life experiences and by having been put into multiple mental simulations with his fellow A-Team members by the Alien God, treasuring memories and bonds that only he remembers, revealing via side-conversations and internal dialogues to be a rather goofy person.[7][8] He also has a noble goal of elevating humanity at the cost of his own life to bring them to a happier future.[9] Even when knowing that Beryl has a high chance of betraying him, Kirschtaria still chooses to put his trust into his teammate hoping that it would not happen. Eventually, despite his dreams and hopes shattering with Chaldea's victory in Olympus, he chooses to entrust humanity's future to Ritsuka with the warning that both British and South American Lostbelts musn't become humanity's new history. In a final act of sacrifice he dies using his Sirius Light to push Beast VII and the Fantasy Tree out of the Lostbelt to buy Chaldea time to escape.[9]
Role
Fate/Grand Order
Olga Marie Animusphere ordered A-Team to participate in "Singularity Point F".[10] He was assigned Coffin A.[6] Due to Lev Lainur's betrayal, Kirschtaria was amongst the casualties to be put into cryofreeze in their coffins.[10]
At some point prior the second prologue, he was resurrected by the Alien God as their sole Crypter, who informed him about the current situation and the future of the Human Order. Claiming it won't be sufficient with him alone to remake history, Kirschtaria recommends to extend the proposal about the resurrection to the remaining A-Team members. Despite the Alien God's warnings about unnecessary competition and the price it would take to resurrect them due to them being unable to pay it by themselves, Kirschtaria remarks the possibilities they can bring shouldn't be cut off and decides to pay the price for his fellow Crypters' revival by himself.[11]
Second Prologue
After the arrival of Goredolf Musik, Koyanskaya and Kirei Kotomine. Thirty-nine Chaldea Masters were resuscitated and evacuated, only the A-Team were supposed to be still frozen and remained in their Coffin.[4]
Goredolf orders Leonardo da Vinci to open Kirschtaria's coffin first, only to find him missing. However to their surprise, all A-team are missing. Somebody had unfrozen and woke A-Team from their respective coffin and placed a fake signal.[6]
Kirschtaria makes a broadcast amongst the remaining Chaldea members. Calling himself the representative of the Crypters and stating the wrongness of the Proper Human History, he declares Earth should be brought back to Age of Gods.[12]
Anastasia: Permafrost Empire
Kirschtaria holds a meeting with his fellow Crypters in which he is the only physical participant while the others are there via hologram. After much preamble, he reveals the true purpose of the meeting: an hour ago, one of his Servants that Chaldea will soon reemerge from Imaginary Number Space following their escape from Antarctica. His Servant couldn’t predict where Chaldea would emerge, only that it will happen in a matter of hours. But Daybit Sem Void deduces they will emerge in the Russian Lostbelt, given their karmic connection with the Oprichniki (who attacked Chaldea's arctic base) is their only means of emerging from Imaginary Number Space and determining their destination.[13]
Kadoc Zemlupus suspects Chaldea has targeted him for revenge. Kirschtaria reminds him of the nonaggression pact between all Crypters: they’re only permitted to interfere with one another when the expansion of their respective Lostbelts leads to their borders to clash and begin to devour the Lostbelt with the weaker Human Order Foundation. For that reason, and knowing the threat Chaldea poses to the Lostbelts, Kirschtaria urges Kadoc to eliminate Chaldea and hasten the growth of Russia’s Fantasy Tree, wishing to see all the Lostbelts realize their full potential, for each is the potentiality of humanity.[13]
One by one, the Crypters disperse until only Ophelia Phamrsolone and Kirschtaria are left. Ophelia confesses to Kirschtaria her doubts that Kadoc can maintain the Russian Lostbelt since it is unlikely he can control the Lostbelt King and that he seems to prioritize the Grand Duchess’ wishes over the Crypters’ objective. Understanding Ophelia’s concerns, Kirschtaria orders Caenis to go to Russia and observe Kadoc’s actions, and punish him if he has indeed turned his back on the Crypters’ mission. Caenis, though irritated by it, complies with Kirschtaria’s command after he reminds her she made a promise with him following his victory over her.[13]
After Caenis leaves, Kirschtaria informs Ophelia that he is having Caenis monitor the whole continent. Her next stop will be Ophelia’s Lostbelt, so Kirschtaria advises Ophelia not to offend her lest she destroy her Lostbelt. He would prefer their respective Lostbelts to be the last ones standing in their competition, having great expectations of Ophelia. Ophelia leaves elated, promising Kirschtaria to not let him down.[13]
Now alone, Kirschtaria remarks to himself that the Alien God’s advent is at hand. With the Lostbelt’s rewrites having finished three months ago, both the planet and the next generation of human history belong to the Crypters. But Kirschtaria vows not to abandon humanity like the sages of Proper Human History and the one who called himself the King of Mages did. He declares he will achieve what Marisbury Animusphere could only dream of.[13]
Götterdämmerung: Eternal Icy Fire Century
Communicating with Ophelia via hologram, Kirschtaria informs her that the Russian Lostbelt has been destroyed, confirming her concerns regarding Kadoc. He and she are the only Crypters who know about it; the former through Caenis' report and the latter from Koyanskaya. He mentions Hinako Akuta had cut off all communications after reporting on her Lostbelt. But that aside, he sees no need to inform the others about Kadoc. Scandinavia Peperoncino will eventually find out from the Alter Ego in his Lostbelt while Beryl Gut will be preoccupied trying to keep his Lostbelt from vanishing. Ophelia questions if they trust Beryl to can expand his Lostbelt given his reputation throughout the Clock Tower as the killer known as "Werewolf". Kirschtaria trusts Beryl to uphold his end, citing him as the type of person who performs better the more he dislikes a job.[14]
Changing the subject, he tells Ophelia to focus on destroying Chaldea, confident in her Mystic Eye's ability to harm even Servants. He considers the Scandinavian Lostbelt rare and important partially because an old god still resides there. He believes having a benevolent one such as her as an ally would be beneficial and hopes Ophelia can convince her to accept and support their new world.[14]
He then informs Ophelia that Caenis will be visiting. Ophelia asks for his forgiveness if she cannot prevent a clash between Caenis and her Lostbelt King. Kirschtaria finds Ophelia's confidence in her king and Sigurd's ability to potentially kill Caenis to be most encouraging and reaffirms his decision to assign her to Scandinavia. He then ends the call, expecting her next report to be when new seeds have formed.[14]
Later, Kirschtaria has Caenis deliver a prerecorded video message to Scáthach-Skadi. He introduces himself to Skadi as being in charge of the largest Lostbelt, Greece, and leader of the Crypters. He also welcomes Chaldea to the bleached Earth, having predicted they would have reached Skadi by the time the message is delivered given how close the Scandinavian Lostbelt is to the Russian Lostbelt.[15]
Reiterating the Crypters' goal again, he claims Proper Human History to be neither correct nor wrong, but it was a history of lost potential prosperity that would end in stagnation. The Alien God came to Earth as a result and tasked the Crypters with helping the Lostbelts grow and become stronger than Proper Human History. With the Alien God's help, Kirschtaria seeks to rewrite history, believing humanity's failure came as a result of the seperation of gods and humans, which in turn came about due to humans failing to understand that gods are a system to use, not obey. He implores Skadi to go against her original fate and protect her Lostbelt's Tree so the Lostbelt can continue to exist, hoping to pit its Tree against his.[15]
He reveals his Tree is already fully grown, and has been dubbed the World Tree Atlas by Zeus. Its roots cover 80% of the planet, and as long as it remains, Chaldea can never restore Proper Human History even if they destroy the other Lostbelts. Kirschtaria ends the message, imploring Skadi to join him in establishing a new Age of Gods with the warning that he will show no mercy if she decides to stand in his way.[15]
SIN: Synchronized Intellect Nation
At a Crypters meeting, Koyanskaya reports the loss of the Scandinavian Lostbelt and Ophelia. Ophelia had willingly given her life to stop Surtr with her Sirius Light, abandoning her responsibilities as a Crypter. Kirschtaria is disappointed that Ophelia couldn’t even take control of the Scandinavian Lostbelt, peaceful as it was. He also confirms he had Ophelia keep Surt around as insurance in case Skadi sympathized with Chaldea given her nature, but to his disappointment even that was too much for her.[16]
Changing the subject, Daybit recalls Koyanskaya said she lost track of Chaldea around the North Sea, though he discounts the possibility they Zero Sailed given their lack of resources. He and Kirschtaria thus conclude they reached the Wandering Sea, the one place the Alien God couldn’t touch. Not even Koyanskaya, with her ability to travel between Lostbelts, can enter it without knowing its exact location. Given that, Peperoncino suggests they forget Chaldea for now and focus on their duties. Beryl, however, finds they can no longer ignore Chaldea and recommends crushing them. At his suggestion, even though it isn't her contract, Koyanskaya agrees to eliminate Chaldea by assassinating Ritsuka and warps away.[16]
One by one, the Crypters take their leave. Before he leaves, Peperoncino says he'll hold a small funeral for Ophelia in his Lostbelt and offer her flowers in Kirschtaria's stead, knowing the latter had become less emotive ever since becoming leader of the Crypters. While Kirschtaria appreciates Peperoncino, he sees the loss of the Scandinavian Lostbelt as only a minor setback, though no longer having Surtr as a fail-safe is a strategic loss. But he regrets Ophelia’s death and vows to live up to her high opinion of him by not faltering in his resolve.[16]
Atlantis: Ancient Ocean of the Dreadnought Gods
Meeting with the other Crypters, Kirschtaria informs Kadoc and Peperoncino of the actual state of the British Lostbelt. He reveals its Fantasy Tree, Seyfert, has already been felled, having instructed Beryl to see to it that the Lostbelt would disappear of its own accord. Peperoncino questions if Seyfert is truly gone, though given that the wall of light that surrounds the British Lostbelt still remains. But Kirschtaria reiterates Seyfert is gone, revealing the Trees form a "network" through the interference of each other's branches once they grow high enough to reach the stratosphere. There hasn't been a signal from Seyfert for a few days now, so Kirschtaria suspects it will not be long before the wall of light, the World's End, follows suit and disappears as well. As for why he had the Lostbelt eliminated, it was because nothing good could ever come from it either for the Crypters or the Alien God. He apologizes to Kadoc and Peperoncino for withholding this information, though both find an apology is pointless now.[17]
With the South American Lostbelt seemingly without a Tree and the branches all connected to the canopy covering the sky belonging to it, Kirschtaria reveals his Tree is the only one receiving the blessings of the Alien God's canopy. Once the British Lostbelt is gone, all the energy the canopy has been absorbing (Earth's mana along with cosmic rays) will converge onto a single point, allowing the Alien God to descend. Once that happens, the old world will perish, a new order will be established on the planet, and Kirschtaria will be the only human left. He is well aware that Chaldea always takes advantage of the enemy's pride and negligence, as Kadoc reminds him, which is why he sent his strongest forces to Atlantis beforehand to deal with them and it is why Caenis isn't present.[17]
Once the meeting is over and he is alone, Kirschtaria suggests to the Priestess of the Alien God that she share her own opinion before he makes his final move. He tells her this could be her last chance, seeing as none of the Apostles have yet to realize he has his own goals in all of this. He suspects she is well aware of the adjustments he made to his Tree, along with the way his and Zeus's interests align even if their conclusions differ, yet she continues to do nothing.[17]
Seeing no point in pondering the Priestess' behavior any longer, Kirschtaria expresses his doubts that the Alien God actually exists because not even the Apostles have seen it nor have the means to determine its true intentions. The Alien God to him is truly a god of emptiness, and he refuses to leave humanity's fate to such a being. He tells the Priestess to watch as he eliminates Chaldea, witnesses Zeus' final moments, and establishes his Tree as reality, proclaiming he alone shall realize the future she failed to create.[17]
Kirschtaria later contacts Caenis to verify whether the Olympus Defense Force had successfully eliminated Chaldea. Caenis presumes they did, recalling how they first bombarded the Chaldeans with Odysseus' fleet, then finished them off with one of Artemis' arrows. She jokes that if they somehow survived, she'd be impressed enough to join them. Kirschtaria advises her to watch her words as they have meaning and tells her she might have been too generous with her praise. Caenis is at first confused by what he means when she recognizes that smirk on his face. Immediately, she demands Odysseus explain what happened quickly.[18]
Odysseus admits he suspects the Chaldeans might still live, given his men have yet to locate their bodies, and likely escaped to Hestia. Caenis more or less demands Odysseus kill himself for failing to eliminate Chaldea, but the latter responds that only Zeus and Kirschtaria can punish him. Kirschtaria reassures Odysseus that he has no intention of blaming him and praises him for his execution of the operation. The Dioscuri insult Caenis and tell her to return to Olympus, certain Zeus will punish her for her failure. Kirschtaria tells the Dioscuri to stop, saying he'll deal with Caenis himself. The twins agree to back off since Kirschtaria insisted and leave but not before insulting Caenis one last time.[18]
Caenis is so enraged toward the Dioscuri that she threatens to kill Kirschtaria after he calls her name twice. She calms down herself, though, when Kirschtaria asks her what she wants and she answers she wants to reject Proper Human History completely, which is why she joined Kirschtaria in his scheme in the first place. Pleased, Kirschtaria reassures Caenis she doesn't need to return to Olympus, for he will explain to Zeus himself that she is bidding her time for a chance to redeem herself. So, for the time being, he wants her to remain on standby under Odysseus' command until the latter locates Chaldea. Caenis begrudgingly agrees to go along with her Master's plan. Kirschtaria leaves after telling Odysseus to inform him when he has located the Athena Klironomia.[18]
Odysseus eventually tracks the Chaldeans to Heracles Island and reports it to Kirschtaria. Surmising they're after the Theos Klironomia, Kirschtaria is impressed by the Chaldean's resilience and thinks Koyanskaya would be amused by the news if she were in Atlantis. On the topic of Koyanskaya, Caenis asks where she is, thinking the Alien God punished her for her failure in India. Kirschtaria denies Koyanskaya was punished and says he is having her monitor the polis for the time being. The Alien God also wouldn't interfere with Koyanskya's affairs, as a hierarchy doesn't exist between them. But Koyanskaya is neither friend nor foe to the Crypters, with Kirschtaria calling her a vermin they'll need to exterminate when all is said and done.[19]
Caenis asks Kirschtaria if she can go kill the Chaldeans now. Kirschtaria's silence makes her impatient, though, prompting the Dioscuri to mock her for her bloodlust, to which she insults them back. Both look to be raring to kill each other when Kirschtaria demands his Servants to behave themselves. Caenis angrily presumes Kirschtaria will send the Dioscuri instead of her, but Kirschtaria says that none of them are going. He then informs Odysseus that Zeus has authorized the usage of Artemis and orders his Servants to be on standby on one of the islands neighboring Heracles Island.[19]
Kirschtaria later contacts Odysseus via an anonymous message that just says, "This is Aeaea Island" repeatedly, using the fact that such an island doesn't exist in the Lostbelt's history as a cipher. He wished to speak with Odysseus without Olympus knowing. While none on Olympus are a threat to him, Kirschtaria nevertheless decided to take extra precautions in case someone tries to usurp Odysseus' position.[20]
With a smirk, he confirms Odysseus's suspicions that he is coming to Atlantis and asks him for the island Chaldea will be so he'll need only to teleport once, considering it for him as leader of the Crypters to settle matters with Chaldea personally. Though he considers it foolish, Odysseus agrees to divulge Chaldea's location to Kirschtaria as soon as he knows it and promises to keep it a secret from Kirschtaria's Servants. Kirschtaria wants to keep Caenis out of it in particular, though he will be bringing the Dioscuri with him for protection. He leaves, remarking on how the twins know how to serve Olympus properly while Caenis does not.[20]
Odysseus eventually informs Kirschtaria of Chaldea's location: en route to Thetis Island. Kirschtaria teleports to Chaldea's location just before Ritsuka's party can finish Caenis off; she had ambushed the party earlier in hopes of killing the Chaldeans before Kirschtaria could, only to be defeated in combat. He proclaims Caenis is still useful to him and traps the heroes with his Bounded Field.[21]
Kirschtaria greets Ritsuka and Mash, the former of which he is meeting for the first time and decided to face himself out of respect for making it this far. He then orders the Dioscuri to take Caenis away with the implication to kill her. Once they're gone, he prepares to eliminate the heroes when Mash asks him why Team A betrayed humanity. Kirschtaria is disappointed Mash would ask the obvious and reiterates his declaration from December 31, 2017: he will correct humanity's mistakes.[21]
With a rain of meteors, Kirschtaria defeats the heroes. He prepares to use the spell again to kill Ritsuka since they are the lynchpin of Chaldea's operations. Fortunately, for the heroes, he is interrupted by the appearance of the Chaldean. He asks him why he saved the Chaldeans, because it was his understanding that his goal was to investigate and assess the people of each Lostbelt. The Chaldean asserts he has no reason to help Chaldea and confirms Kirschtaria's presumption that saving them was a one-time occurence. He considers it only fair that the Chaldeans be similarly saved as when the Alien God saved Kirschtaria from the brink of death. Kirschtaria does not dispute and retreats to avoid a fight with the Chaldean, telling him his impression of the doctor isn't particularly convincing.[21]
Olympus: Interstellar Mountainous City
In the Crypters meeting room, Peperoncino insists Kirschtaria take his Sirius Light for his failure in the Indian Lostbelt, but Kirschtaria tells him to keep it as the Sirius Light hasn't been his responsibility since Team A ceased to be relevant. Peperoncino realizes Ophelia died because she used her Sirius Light and presumes that is what Marisbury had in mind when he assembled Team A. Kirschtaria only remains silent, leading Peroperoncino to conclude his presumptions were correct. He then tells Kirschtaria that Limbo's ranting had more or less confirmed his suspicions that the Apostles do not plan for any of the Lostbelts despite their constant claims the strongest one will become the new Foundation of Humanity. Kirschtaria concludes he isn't in violation of his contract with the Alien God since Peperoncnino learned the truth on his own, yet despite what Peperoncino said, he is still determined to make the Lostbelt the new Proper Human History. Peperoncino leaves the room after offering his assistance. Kirschtaria is grateful to him and considers him the most humane and honorable of all the Crypters.[22]
The Priestess appears, unhappy about what Kirschtaria and Peperoncino discussed. Kirschtaria assures her there is no need to eliminate Peperoncino, for he came to his own conclusions based on what Limbo said, nor has he himself divulged the Alien God's secrets to the other Crypters. He has therefore not breached the contract.[22]
He then tells the Priestess that the Tree is now fully grown and is ready to bring her true form down to this world, though he has already promised Zeus not to stop him from using the Tree's magical energy for his own ideal. He is well aware that means the Tree will be depleted of its magical energy and the Alien God's descent will be delayed, which would be in violation of his contract and his life would therefore be forfeit. But he assures the Priestess that will not happen as Zeus' ideals are doomed to fail. While it'd be trivial for him to see Zeus' ideals realized or ensure the Alien God's descent, Chaldea will pose as an obstacle to either outcome. He can only hope Ritsuka's spirit hasn't broken yet, wishing to fight them again and conclusively demonstrate their efforts are for naught.[22]
Zeus later speaks with Kirschtaria, using all of his Authority to keep their conservation private, even from the Alien God, though he cannot prevent the Priestess from seeing them, only hearing them. Discussing their end goals, Kirschtaria confirms, as Zeus surmised, that the Alien God is keeping a close eye on him. He is the only Crypter with a direct link to the Alien God, and if he acts in counter to their interests, he would be immediately cut off from further aid. He thus has no choice but to say: "Grow the Fantasy Tree. When it is done, the Reconstruction of Myth will take place." Zeus recalls how he fought Kirschtaria to see if he had the strength to restore the Age of Gods, but he lost because he was spending most of his power to keep Olympus operational and Kirschtaria's meteoric magecraft.[23]
While he recognizes the Tree is needed to preserve the Lostbelt, Zeus refuses to allow the Alien God to use it to descend. Thus, the moment the Tree fully blossoms, he will claim it for himself and destroy the Alien God's point of arrival. From there, he will destroy Proper Human History and establish his Lostbelt in its place. Despite his opposition to Proper Human History, though, he assures Kirschtaria he will protect humanity in his stead in the event of his death in honor of their friendship and contract. Kirschtaria tells Zeus there are only a few days before the Tree reaches a critical point, so until then, they will continue working toward the Reconstruction of the Age of Gods. He then leaves, agreeing with Zeus' request to save his final battle for him.[23]
Kirschtaria later falls asleep in the gardens while reminiscing about his past. Kadoc wakes him up and informs that Caenis helped the Chaldeans kill Demeter. These developments surprise Kirschtaria, and he makes a lame music pun about the Chaldeans defeating a god. He is additionally surprised Kadoc knew something even Europa didn't and correctly assumes he watched the battle through a familiar. Kadoc claims he needs to be ready to fight again at least one more time. Kirschtaria says that is fine but warns Kadoc not to use something he shouldn't lest he be forced to respond appropriately. Kadoc, fearing Kirschtaria knows about his activities as an ally of the Godbreaker Alliance, changes the subject by positing the Chaldeans defeated Demeter not because they overpowered her but because she seemed preoccupied with looking for something. He asks Kirschtaria if he knows it was.[3]
Kirschtaria reveals Zeus had ordered Demeter to kill her daughter Persephone, who had sided with the Coexistence Faction during the Olympiamachia. Kadoc finds it almost human of Demeter to call out to her daughter as if she were still alive, but questions how the gods, who are supposed to be machines, can function when they behave so contradictorily. Kirschtaria argues it isn't contradictory, though, because the gods are machines and explains how the gods were originally a fleet of ships whose functions led the people of Earth to see them as gods, which prompted the fleet to make acting as gods their new directive to operate more smoothly on the planet. Demeter's behavior was therefore a matter of conflict, not a contradiction, because as a machine she had no choice but to treat the order to kill her own daughter like any other assigned task.[3]
Kadoc, recalling Kirschtaria seeks to restore the Age of Gods, asks him if the Machine Gods are the type of god he wants to be. Kirschtaria insists gods should rule the world, but he seeks a more perfect age, one where there will be no conflict or contradiction. It is his responsibility to bring about, and it is what the Alien God wishes.[3]
Some time later, Peperoncino reports to Kirschtaria that the Dioscuri have perished and Prometheus-Hephaestus has completely shutdown and Caenis is still working with Chaldea and the Godbreaker Alliance. Kirschtaria accepts Caenis is still working with the enemy, but he regrets the Dioscuri’s misanthropy prevented him from understanding them better. He thinks Ritsuka would’ve done a better job than him at understanding the twin gods as they only accepted him because Zeus did. He regrets fighting them in front of Zeus, thinking things would have been different if Zeus wasn’t acting as a judge in the background.[24]
Peperoncino suspects Zeus will now not hesitate to use Magellan and concludes since the Crypters cannot allow other than themselves to use it that Zeus is currently Kirschtartia’s greatest adversary, not Chaldea. Kirschtaria argues, however, that Chaldea is still his greatest adversary, which is why he used one of the last two times he planned to personally fight on them. The results of that battle disappointed him, but he thinks it could’ve been close if Ritsuka had the same resolve he heard they had during the Time Temple. Ritsuka’s exploits to date have proven there isn’t much difference between them in practice, so whether they have a rematch is up to Ritsuka. [24]
Nevertheless, he had already promised Zeus he would fight him last as per their contract. A rematch to decide the fate of the world of gods was Zeus’ condition for cooperating. Peperoncino is surprised Zeus would have such human motivations. Kirschtaria says no one lacking that quality would take on the task of becoming the god who leads humanity. But that is why he pities Zeus for the decision he is about to make regarding Europa (the Godbrekaer Alliance’s secret collaborator) and her treachery.[24]
Later, Kirschtaria tells Zeus not to go through with Europa’s execution, not just for her sake but his as well. Zeus refuses to overturn his decision as he seeks to protect not himself but this world the Machine Gods founds after years of wandering. Kirschtaria realizes Zeus never told him why his fleet crossed the universe. Zeus goes on to explain how they crossed over from the original universe that was on the brink of death and spent many millennia searching for a suitable replacement for their homeworld. There they came to be worshipped and given names by humanity, and feeling joy for the first time, they decided from thereon to act as gods. But only Zeus understood that meant they would be abandoning their original directive: the revival of their home planet.[8]
Kirschtaria asks Zeus why he took control of the other gods’ functions. Zeus answers that it was the only way to fight against Sefar, fully aware it would cause his fellow gods to hate him. They all have the same integration ability, but only he chose to use it and thus believes only he went mad. Kirschtaria refutes that last line, believing at that moment, as far as humanity was concerned, Zeus was the only true god. He feels both of them are similiar in that they both changed from what they were supposed to be and wholly dedicated themselves to what changed them.[8]
Zeus senses a commotion on the surface and concludes Chaldea is coming to Europa’s rescue. He asks Kirschtaria how Magellan is faring, to which the latter replies that it is nearly ready for one of them to use it. Kirschtaria offers to deal with Chaldea if Zeus would like to use Magellan first, but Zeus declines, believing he should greet the Chaldeans if they’re coming to save Europa. He will save Magellan for after he defeats Chaldea and Kirschtaria, believing it the only he can repay Kirschtaria. Thanking Kirschtaria for letting him share his burden, which he couldn’t even do with his own brothers after he became an all-powerful god, Zeus then bids farewell to his friend before erasing his terminal. Kirschtaria says goodbye to him as well, saying he holds him in the highest respects.[8]
After Zeus is killed by the heroes, Kirschtaria expresses regret that his and the former's vision for resurrecting the Age of Gods could never truly be compatible as Zeus' ultimate objective was to escape Earth. He would've supported Zeus' plan if he made Olympus into a new type of spaceship and brought its people with him. Instead, Zeus planned to abandon the very people that named him a god in the first place, ironically making his vision for a new Age of the Gods the same dead end that the gods of Proper Human History avoided. Kirschtaria regrets that not even Europa could inspire a change of heart in Zeus, though he supposes not even Zeus could disobey Chaos' directive.[25]
With her debt to Goredolf Musik for rescuing her repaid following Chaos' defeat, Caenis rejoins Kirschtaria at Magella and waits for the Chaldeans with him and Limbo. [26][25][27] When the Chaldeans arrive, Kirschataria welcomes them and gets Limbo to back off by getting the latter to realize he is the last shikigami of the real Limbo. He then congratulates the Chaldeans on their victory over Zeus, impressed they didn't lose a single member of their team, provoking Ritsuka for not counting Miyamoto Musashi (she defeated Chaos at the cost of her existence[25]) since she is not from Proper Human History.[27]
He declares it is too late for the Chaldeans to cut down Magella as it is now complete and using half of its power to protect itself, making interference from the outside impossible. As it is now, Zeus, who was directly connected to it, and Kirschtaria, who has the right to use it as he sees fit, are the only ones who can make Magellan die. Therefore, the only way to cut down Magellan now is to defeat Kirschtaria, and so he and Ritsuka and their respective Servants do battle.[27]
Soon, however, Kirschtaria pauses the battle, for the Alien God has begun to descend to occupy the hollow of the now mature Magellan and use it as their vessel on Earth. But much to Limbo's anger, Kirschtaria had summoned had summoned Titan Atlas to occupy Magellan's hollow long beforehand. Kirschtaria reveals he was never loyal to the Alien God, and he had always planned to double cross it. Limbo tries to kill Kirschtaria for his treachery, but Caenis immediately interrupts his casting. The two then head off somewhere to continue their battle.[27]
Despite his opposition to the Alien God, Kirschtaria confesses he has no desire to protect Proper Human History. Instead, he will have Atlas use Magellan's energy to deify all of humanity, believing it will eliminate inequality and lead humanity to a better place. As proof he can accomplish such a feat, Atlas spreads True Ether across the world, which begins the process of changing every living human into higher-level beings. Kirschtaria knows that turning humans into god-like beings will not immediately end human conflict, but he believes it will eventually result in the end of human conflict. It will, however, be limited to humanity on Earth as it currently exists. Furthermore, once Atlas' Textures cover the Earth, Proper Human History will be gone forever. [27]
Ritsuka and Mash find Kirschtaria's plan no different from the Alien God's. Kirschtaria tells them they're wrong and asserts the Alien God cares nothing for Earth or humanity, revealing the bleaching of the Earth was a side effect of the Alien God's true goal. The Alien God then decides to end Kirschtaria's life for preventing its advent. Even so, Kirschtaria still intends to bring about his new world before the Alien God can sever their contract and challenges Ritsuka and Mash to prove they can make a greater future than himself.[27]
As they battle, Kirschtaria finds himself amazed by Ritsuka. He trusted Daybit to continue where he left off in the possibility he would die, but now he recognizes Ritsuka was another candidate.[27]
Ritsuka defeats Kirschtaria, but unfortunately Atlas cannot be stopped at this point even if Kirschtaria were to die. Kirschtaria believes humans becoming god-like beings will allow them to devise a way to stop the Alien God's plan when Magellan starts to burn. Kirschtaria is horrified, as it should be impossible to burn a fully grown Tree from the outside. A voice confesses that is why they burned another Tree and exploited the Trees' network to spread the fire to Magellan.[27]
Beryl then tries to stab Kirschtaria in the back, only for Kirschtaria to deflect his attack. Kirschtaria is surprised by Beryl's sudden betrayal, telling him he will be free of the Alien God's control once he is deified. Beryl is disappointed that Kirschtaria doesn't understand before asking him why he feared the British Lostbelt since he has never been there himself. Kirschtaria confesses it is because he came to realize that Lostbelt poses a different yet equal threat as the Alien God: a curse that would destroy the planet.[27]
Beryl confesses he came to Olympus because he incurred the fairies' wrath for betraying them, and then he proceeds to call down their divine punishment down at his present location. Kirschtaria, realizing what is about to happen, urges the twins Adele and Macarios, Ritsuka, and Mash to evacuate when Rhongomyniad shoots down from the sky toward Olympus. Kirschtaria creates a barrier to block the Holy Lance, refusing to let Chaldea's journey end here, but maintaing the barrier leaves him vulnerable for Beryl to stab him. Beryl admits he was originally going to return to Britain after burning Magellan, but he had to stab Kirschtaria out of disgust for his plan to deify humanity because he wouldn't be able to kill anyone anymore then, preffering to remain as he is now.[27]
Trinity Metatronius: Courtroom for the Judgment of Mankind
Abilities
Kirschtaria is a powerful magus that possesses the greatest Magic Circuits in his family's history, which spans a thousand years. When he was a teenager, his father tried to assassinate him, which resulted in his Magic Circuits being permanently damaged.[3] Despite this, his overall strength as a magus is at the top among Chaldea.[4] In fact among the members of the A-team, Kirschtaria, Scandinavia Peperoncino, and Daybit Sem Void are ranked the highest in terms of fighting power and are considered more or less equal to each other so compatibility would decide the victor if they were to fight each other. In a simple duel to the death, Peperoncino would win, a frontal "war" would result in Kirschtaria's victory, and regardless of situation the one to ultimately win would be Daybit due to his unpredictability.[28] Da Vinci compliments that Kirschtaria is a genius at Magecraft, and is the type who can perform anything theoretically possible without fail, which contrasts his fellow teammate Daybit, another genius at magecraft who is the type to achieve the impossible.[29]
Magecraft
In the Clock Tower where geniuses come to gather, Kirschtaria stood out as a true genius in magecraft and someone capable of changing the very world. He set the top records in all sorts of fields at the Clock Tower, many of which are still unbroken, and was even acclaimed as one of the brightest stars by the elite aristocrats of the Barthomeloi faction, the democrats of the Trambelio faction, and the neutralists of the Meluastea faction despite their differences. They all had equally high hopes that he would be the one to rebuild this world's deteriorating foundation of magecraft, and thought that Kirschtaria might have eventually founded a thirteenth department if he had not decided to join Chaldea.[17]
Grand Order/Anima Animusphere.
Kirschtaria uses Astromancy Magecraft, Astrology and High-Speed Incantation.[2] He established a line of magecraft that allows him to defeat Servants while still human. His magus lineage has been in the Department of Astromancy since before the Earth became blank, and for that reason he was never treated as a threat, as his theory was regarded as genius on paper but impossible to put to practice.[2] The magecraft that Kirschtaria uses is the basis of what ended up becoming astrology. It's the primal form of Astromancy magecraft, one that temporarily assumes control over planets, the heavens, and the universe to use their boundless magical energy as a source of power, artifically aligning celestial bodies in a series to create a gigantic Magic Circuit. It would not be exaggerating to say that a magus could create the largest Magic Circuit in all Human History with this power. It is the ultimate magecraft for those with the deepest knowledge of astrology, a spell that has been passed down for generations since the first Chaldeans began to read the stars. The same tremendous power as witnessed in the miraculous moments when the planets are aligned. That is Ideal Magecraft (理想魔術, Risō Majutsu?), a type that is even older than the Age of Gods, back when planets, the heavens, were all overflowing with magical energy. This is sublimated in the spell Grand Order/Anima Animusphere: Crown-Rank Designation/Celestial Sphere for Human Order Security (冠位指定/人理保障天球, Kan'i Shitei/Jinri Hoshō Tenkyū?), a planetary roar which uses the stars to rain down meteors.[21] Anima Animusphere's magical energy is easily as powerful as Artemis's Shooting Star Ortygia, and it is capable of decimating multiple Servants at once,[21] as shown when he single-handedly killed every last of the Servants that arrived at Olympus prior to the arrival of Chaldea to the Atlantic Lostbelt,[20] or when he overpowered Super Orion, Mandricardo, Mash Kyrielight, Mochizuki Chiyome, and Jason, although it didn't kill them.[21] Goredolf Musik states not even the Shadow Border could survive a hit from it. The spell covers a large ground, so no matter how fast Ritsuka Fujimaru ran, he would still end up being crushed by the attack.[21] Using his meteor magecraft, Kirschtaria tore apart the Dioscuri and Demeter acknowledged that Kirschtaria using this Magecraft possessed the potential to easily destroy her Aletheia.[30] According to Caenis, the power of this spell is at least as powerful as Zeus's thunderbolts.[27]
Sherlock Holmes states that decimating multiple Servants as easily as taking candy from the proverbial baby is simply not within Human capacity. A few rare and notable exceptions aside, there is simply no way for a Magus to defeat a Servant who managed genuinely heroic accomplishments in life. And even among those notable exceptions, the very best they could hope to accomplish is to strike a single blow in retaliation. While there is no question that Kirschtaria was a true genius, if he had such massive amounts of Magical Energy he would've been Seal Designated. The reason Kirschtaria couldn't use such advanced Magecraft before is that the modern-day planet is simply incapable of recreating such ancient Astromancy. Regardless of how refined the Animusphere's secret spells may have been, there was just no environment available to use them anywhere in the world. As humanity's consumption-based civilization took control and developed further, every field of Magecraft began to decline in power and scale. While astrology once involved receiving power from space, at some point, it became nothing more than a way to observe space. In ancient Greece, however, the world, the sky, and the heavens were all separate layers, and each layer's mana value differed accordingly. The mana he was wielding is the heavens, the laws that govern outer space. This is why he chose to grow the Atlantic Lostbelt. The Greek view of space and the Animusphere's theories of Magecraft have excellent compatibility. The closer the Greek world gets to the Age of Gods, the closer his Magecraft approaches the domain of the gods. Holmes says that if anything, it becomes a Mystery surpassing the gods and that his power may be unrivaled in the Atlantic Lostbelt.[21] Rhongomyniad "Transcendent Magecraft (超抜級の魔術?)" used by Morgan is stated to be a Mystery surpassing Kirschtaria's Ideal Magecraft, being one made not by human hands but by the Inner Sea of the Planet.[31]
Kirschtaria has reached the zenith of what's humanly possible, to the point where Da Vinci speculates he possesses greater power than his Lostbelt's King.[21] Jason has heard that Zeus recognizes Kirschtria as his equal.[20] This was later confirmed to be true as Kirschtaria had defeated Zeus due to having planned ahead. He took a calculated risk that Zeus wouldn't go all out if he spoke to him in private. Since Zeus uses 90% of his power to keep Olympus running at all times, it follows that he would not employ his full strength in an opening move against a lone Mage. As soon as Kirschtaria unveiled his meteor Magecraft,[23] Zeus knew he has erred at the start. He quickly changed outputs, but by then, it was too late. In boxing terms, he had already been knocked out. Demeter and Aphrodite were shocked by this result.[23] This resulted in Kirschtaria and Zeus becoming friends, and Zeus recognizing him as his equal.[20][21] Odysseus was also led to believe that there is no one in all of Olympus who poses even a remote threat to Kirschtaria. Although Kirschtaria agrees, he says one can never be too careful, and considers the possibility of someone outside Odysseus' chain of command taking control of Artemis to use her for themselves. This is the reason why he takes extra precautions.[20]
He can use his Magecraft to instantly throw up barriers powerful enough to block a divine-powered Rhongomyniad which Holmes states is able to destroy all of Olympus. The barrier is shown being destroyed in the process.[27]
Kirschtria's Bounded Field.
He is also able to perform certain spells which include the ability to create blades of wind which can slice a human to pieces, add weight to an object to make it feel and sound heavier than what it actually is, and cancel the noise made by his footsteps.[32]
Master
Upon being revived by the Alien God and given his own Lostbelt and summoning his own Servants, Kirschtaria is shown to possess immense talent and skill as a Master, seeing as he was able to contract with Three Divine Spirit's as his Servants.[13]
Additionally, due to being selected and placed into A Team in order to complete the Grand Order, Kirschtaria was also given special Command Spells called the Sirius Light, a kind of power able to "overturn the world" according to Marisbury.[22] After being given his own Lostbelt to govern, the Command Spells gave Kirschtaria a certain degree of Power/Authority over the Lostbelt itself. As seen when he managed to use the command spell to further empower and strengthen his Magecraft to be powerful enough to repel the physical manifestation of the Alien God after it manifested within the Fantasy Tree of the Atlantic Lostbelt.[9]
As revealed, Kirschtaria, along with Daybit Sem Void, was the only one among the Crypters who successfully completed the Grand Orders. Albeit, its been stated that Daybit was the only one to do so without the need of summoning Servants.[33] Implying that Kirschtaria had summoned and lead his own Servants to success during the numerous trials of the Grand Order.

"I remember it took a lot of trial and error to get his style as leader right, with the hardest part being making him stop looking a loser… I was trying to represent a prestigious mage that’s not conceited and I think I did it. Since he’s harder to imagine in casual outfits compared to the other Crypters, I hope I do get this chance to draw in a more lighthearted situation. I created his staff supposing it’s an ancient Mystic Code rebuilt with every replaceable part replaced for better modern materials. TYPE-MOON Ace Volume 14 Nasu interview Question: So does that make Peperoncino second to none in terms of combat prowess??
Nasu: Pepe would win in a simple 1v1 match to death, but Kirschtaria would be the one to emerge victorious in a frontal “war”. And regardless of the situation, the one to ultimately win would be Daybit due to his unpredictability. These three are more or less evenly matched, so winning boils down to compatibility. Assuming the two belong to the same category of strength, you could say Pepe is backward compatible with Beryl.
So we already know who would win if Beryl and Pepe were to clash head-on.
Nasu: That’s right. Beryl thinks he could kill Pepe in an instant if he wanted to, hence his arrogance. Meanwhile, Pepe, sensing what’s on Beryl’s mind, would just shrug it off like the adult he is. “Sure, if that’s what you think. You do you.” - ↑ Fate/Grand Order: Cosmos in the Lostbelt - Atlantis: Ancient Ocean of the Dreadnought Gods - Prologue

Say for example, if the protagonist didn't survive in the prologue, and someone from A-Team survived, what will happen to humanity? Is there anyone in A-Team who can successfully restore the Human Order?"
Nasu: "There are two... I believe, it's either Kirschtaria Wodime or Daybit Sem Void. But in case of Daybit, he will get stuck after restoring humanity and won't be able to face off against the danger in year 2018."
Kirschtaria will be able to hold on?
Nasu: If its Kirschtaria he'll just make it? No, he'll be able to clear half of the threat from 2018 but he can't win since he's a Crypter. But, if we're just talking about restoring the Human Order, Kadoc might have a chance. No, nope. It's too much for Kadoc.
Kadoc feels like he has a factor that'll let him become a protagonist. What do you think?
Nasu: His plot armor (最後の運命力) is just a tad insufficient. If Anatasia works hard then maybe, but without Lostbelts he won't meet "that Anatasia." There are various reasons why the other faces would quickly fail. - ↑
