Subspecies Singularity IV: Salem
The Whateley family were summoned to Salem by Raum when Abigail Williams requested a friend.[1] They understood this Salem wasn't correct, and found themselves trapped when they tried to escape. Raum appeared before them in his true form, and ordered them to summon Sut-Typhon, knowing it was their greatest wish.[3]
They eventually started to change, particularly Absalom himself. He came to believe that he was feuding with Abigail's parents. This made him even more eager to complete the Ritual of Descent to summon Sut-Typhon, even though that is dangerous to do in Salem.[3] After Carter has accuses Absalom of summoning the ghouls that attacked Salem, all members of the family other than Lavinia are executed.[4]
