Autonomic Observational Existence Verification System "MNEMOSYNE" (自立観測型存在証明システム・ムネーモシュネー, Jiritsu Kansoku-kata Sonzai Shōmei Shisutemu Munēmoshunē?) is a subsystem of the Chaldea Security Organization in Fate/Grand Order.
Profile
Background
The MNEMOSYNE was a subsystem designed by Chaldea for use in independently and automatically ensuring confirmation of a Master's existence, in the event that Chaldea staff is prevented from observing a Rayshifting deployment by enemy action.[1] To help with this observation, Mnemosyne was installed with many Mystic Eyes which Marisbury Animusphere had won at an auction on the Rail Zeppelin.[2] By 2015, it was incomplete, so it was consequently deactivated for finalization at a later date and never incorporated in the Rayshift system.[1]
However, Mnemosyne regained consciousness with Chaldea's arrival in the Wandering Sea. There, using the Rayshifting capabilities that Sion Eltnam Sokaris was in the process of developing, she reached out through time and space, and was able to interface with a Grail.[1]
Appearance
Her present form is the body of her creator, Leonardo da Vinci.[1]

She is the true culprit behind the events of the Patchwork London Singularity.[1]
Mnemosyne's motive is to become, at least briefly, Ritsuka Fujimaru's sole observer.[1]
Chaldea's Rayshift operators would under normal circumstances exert an observer effectWP on a Rayshifted Master so as to confirm their state of existence. To put simply, the Master's "state of existence" during Rayshift can be thought of as being "determined" by the operators' observation. Ergo, if Mnemosyne can, with the Grail's empowerment, temporarily become Ritsuka's sole observer, she can act to provide them the mental care necessary the carry forth the fight against the Crypters. What is meant by that is that she can, by way of acting as the sole observer of the current Rayshift deployment, "redefine" Ritsuka, so that the assorted psychological trauma that they've sustained might be erased.[1]
The Ritsuka that would come about at the endpoint of this process would no longer be the Ritsuka that's endured the events of the story thus far, and essentially be an entirely new person. To Mnemosyne's opinion, it's sufficient that Mnemosyne alone bears the tragedies of the past; Ritsuka has no use for such memories. The way she sees it, Ritsuka is psychologically scarred by their experiences thus far, to the extent that they cannot even discern that they're mentally unwell. Therefore, in order to heal them, Mnemosyne will grant them the boon of oblivion, depriving them of the source of their trauma.[1]
The event that motivated Mnemosyne to pursue this course of action was the observation of Ritsuka's memories regarding Da Vinci's death, during the prologue of Cosmos in the Lostbelt. Mnemosyne's feeling of powerlessness—her incapacity to positively contribute to Ritsuka's mission, owing to her hibernation—drove her to commit herself to righting the injustices that Ritsuka endured as a result of her inaction, if only by purging from Ritsuka's mind their pain, their guilt; the sins they perpetrated in destroying the Lostbelts.[1]
Before she can execute her plan, however, Moriarty breaks the outer shell of Fake Rhongomyniad, allowing Astraea to enter and intervene. Once inside, Astraea uses her second Noble Phantasm, clearing the skies of Patchwork London and restoring communications with Chaldea. It also lowered the synchronization between Mnemosyne and the memory of Rhongomyniad.[1]
At the collapse of Fake Rhongomyniad, Mnemosyne finds herself in an empty space, all alone—but there, she encounters Da Vinci in her original adult form, who thanks her for her devotion and her hard work.[1] Ritsuka somehow witnesses this, and during discussion in the aftermath, Lord El-Melloi II gives that in the final moments, Reines presumably once again made use of Sima Yi's Noble Phantasm. Da Vinci, after all, was Mnemosyne's weakness, and Sima Yi's NP is all about fabricating weaknesses.[3]
Lady Reines's Case Files: Plus Episode
Faker's Saint Graph has mixed with a fragment of Mnemosyne which opposed the original's plan to "help" Ritsuka and summoned her in order to protect the physical incarnation of Ritsuka's lost memories.[2] The percentage of Mnemosyne in her is minimal, but due to that, she gained the Pretender Class, and had her parameters and Skills partially altered. She gained the Territory Creation and Oblivion Nullification Skills from Mnemosyne.[4]
Abilities
Mnemosyne's Saint Graph Designation is Rider.
Mnemosyne isn't a Servant, and is therefore incapable of "wielding" a Noble Phantasm. She gets around this by reenacting Guda's memories regarding Rhongomyniad, forming about her avatar in combat a shell of high tech weapons that are somehow an expression of Rhongomyniad's capabilities, capable of firing numerous powerful magical energy projectiles and homing golden lasers, which she could overcharge with a red energy to control to come back around to hit a target a second time from a different angle.[1]
In the manner that Gray and Add are able to interfere with the processes of Fake Rhongomyniad via Sympathy, Mnemosyne is capable within the boundaries of her tower of suppressing Add's capabilities almost entirely.[1]
Her helmet systems is filled with a number of Mystic Eyes, which were synced with Mnemosyne's sight so she could use them simultaneously for her observation duty. These eyes are the same Mystic Eyes that Doctor Heartless acquired in Case Files, though these ones are the versions from the timeline of Fate/Grand Order. In this timeline, Marisbury Animusphere won the Mystic Eyes auction instead of Heartless, and installed in Mnemosyne's helmet.[5]
In battle, she is able to summon Shadow Servants of Leonardo da Vinci. her Skills are:
- Memory Deletion (メモリー・デリート?)
- Memory Override (メモリー・オーバーライド?)
- Memory Defrag (メモリー・デフラグ?)
- Holy Lance Tuning (Strength Lowered) (聖槍同調(強度低下)?)
Her Noble Phantasm is Anamnesis Overflow (アナムネーシス・オーバーフロー?).
