Magical Girl Guru, Mahatma ♀ Helena (魔法の少女導師 マハトマ♀エレナ?) is a Magical Girl appearing in the Prisma Causeway event of Fate/Grand Order. Her familiar is Mini Edison.
Profile
Background
While taking the form of Heroic Spirit Helena Blavatsky, she was actually a young girl's fantasy formed into a magical girl modeled from Helena. While acting exactly like Helena, she is a passive existence born from the unconsciousness and not something actively summoned like a Servant.
She appears as an Echo in the First Lady's Reality Marble, where she is granted a temporary body and magical energy.[1] She then took part in and survived in the Magical Girls instigated by the First Lady to established her own kingdom.[2][3] Like the other survivors, she was granted a jewel to grant her absolute authority in her kingdom.[3] Afterward, for a time, she traveled with Connacht ☆ Medb learning that the latter was forming a rebellion against the First Lady. She left, though, when Medb became obsessed with control.[4] She then founded the Land of Dead Bookshelves to serve as a graveyard for the Echoes.[5]

Fate/Grand Order
Event: Prisma Causeway
Helena meets Ritsuka's party as they're being overwhelmed by hostile Echoes in her kingdom. She recognizes that Romani Archaman's communication is leyline directly linked to a parallel world and realizes "she" found a way to the outside world. She then brings the group into her library so she may continue talking without danger.[5]
Inside she explains each grimoire that fills the shelves is a sleeping Echo, which she explains are the ghosts of Magical Girls. She also reveals the Reality Marble was created by the First Lady residing beyond the black wall. Illyasviel von Einzbern then tells her about Connacht ☆ Medb kidnapped her friend, Miyu Edelfelt. Helena finds it strange that Medb would do that, having thought she was only interested in the jewels. She, therefore, wonders if changes in the First Lady affected Medb too. She then reveals the Reality Marble's Magical Girls are all failures who came from various worlds. Mash wonders if she was summoned into the Reality Marble as Magical Girl, to which Helena points out that she has a familiar, meaning Ritsuka. Helena then tries to give her jewel to the group, unconcerned that the Echoes will attack her without it. She informs Illya that the First Lady was the one who kidnapped Miyu while disguised as one of Medb’s familiars. Illya refuses to take the jewel, but Helena reveals the jewels are needed to bypass the black wall as they’re the crystallized emotions that grant wishes. She warns though the First Lady is likely gathering the jewels to use them to escape to the outside world. But she advises against fighting her as the First Lady’s power in the Reality Marble is absolute. She then demands Illya take her jewel, forcing Illya to fight her.[6] After she's defeated, Helena accepts Ritsuka's offer to join their group.[7]
Returning to the Neutral Zone, Helena calls Medb the strongest Magical Girls as self-belief is the source of a Magical Girl’s power. Medb can thus maintain herself, unlike the other Magical Girls. Helena traveled with her before she became obsessed with control. She also reveals Medb is forming a rebellion against the First Lady, which explains Medb trying to recruit Illya earlier. After slaying Medb’s monsters, Ritsuka and Mash fear they’ll be unable to return to Chaldea when they’re unable to contact Romani. Fortunately, Romani reestablishes contact with them. He reveals Chaldea's Servants just repelled an assault on the facility using its leyline connection. He gives Ritsuka and Mash five minutes to decide whether to return to Chaldea or stay with Illya. Suddenly it starts to snow, signifying that Medb is attacking the surrounding lands. Romani soon reestablishes contact to hear Ritsuka and Mash’s decision.[4]
After Ritsuka and Mash tell Romani of their decision, the group travels to the Land of Sweets, which has been assimilated into the Land of Snow and Honey. There they fight Mini Cu's monsters despite Mash being weakened in Medb’s territory. After his monsters are slain, Mini Cu prepares to unleash his Noble Phantasm, Gentle Bite Coinchenn, on Illya, even though he knows Medb wants to recruit her. Mash protects Illya when Magical Sapphire suddenly appears. Sapphire agrees with Ruby’s request to temporarily contract with Mash since she is Illya’s ally. After Sapphire contracts with Mash, Mini Cu retreats as Helena tells him to tell Medb that Illya has two jewels. Sapphire then plays a message from Miyu. Miyu reveals she is imprisoned in the First Lady's castle, and the latter has been luring Magical Girls from different worlds into the Reality Marble. She suspects it's for a nefarious purpose, and it's related to her captivity. She then ends the message warning Illya not to come. Sapphire believes Miyu doesn’t want Illya to come because she knows something about the First Lady’s true identity. Helena only heard that the First Lady was the first Magical Girl.[8]
Arriving at Medb's castle, Helena decides not to accompany the others inside to help defeat Medb, not wanting to see any more Magical Girls fall. Before they head inside, though, she gives Illya her jewel. She tells her that she is already its owner and to return it if she doesn't need it.[9] Soon Medb's castle collapses, and Mash receives her jewel. Helena recognizes that this means Medb has become an Echo, and she will see her in her library someday. Illya returns Helena’s jewel to her. With all four jewels, the group can now bypass the black wall.[10]
Returning to the Neutral Zone, the group watches the black wall disappear. Illya, Ruby, and Sapphire fly up to get an overview of the First Lady’s kingdom. Helena senses all the Reality Marble’s magical energy gathering to the First Lady. She wonders if the First Lady found a vessel capable of containing that much magical energy. Illya, Ruby, and Sapphire soon come back down to warn the others of a approaching swarm of the First Lady's familiars.[11] They eventually breakthrough and enter the First Lady's kingdom.[12]
As the group heads closer to the First Lady’s castle, Helena notices the familiars changing and becoming stronger. Mash attributes this to the First Lady reacting to their presence to prevent their approach. She wonders if the First Lady deactivated the black wall instead of the jewels and if she intentionally made the Magical Girls fight each other from her kingdom. the group is then attacked by a large enemy force. Using power borrowed from Ruby and Sapphire, Illya initially tries to hold off the enemy herself so the others can go on ahead. She eventually exhausts herself, though, fighting so many enemies. Helena tells her to pull herself together and spanks her on the behind. She then confesses her surprise at how much spirit she has shown, having thought she was a fake Magical Girl before. Impressed by it, she takes over for Illya so the latter can meet with the First Lady with Ritsuka and Mash. She forgets, however, to tell them they need the jewels to return to their original world. Though she won’t give them her jewel, she is confident they can return home if Illya and Miyu have two jewels. Then realizing the true power of the jewels, Helena accidentally summons Mini Edison to her side. He reminds her that he'll always be by her side as long as she fights without abandoning her spirit of inquiry. He then supports her in fighting the First Lady's familiars.[2]
When Ritsuka's party starts their battle with the First Lady, the familiars cease being a threat. Helena and Mini Edison head for the First Lady's castle, noticing a passive Echo trying yet unable to get in. They eventually break through the castle's barriers and enter the throne room, where they see Ritsuka's party has been victorious. They then take everyone outside.[1]
There everyone learns the Echo is the First Lady's friend Mila, whom she killed when she became the first corrupted Magical Girl. The First Lady soon starts to disappear, triggering her Reality Marble's collapse. Helena convinces her to give her ownership of it so it can be used as a refuge for wounded Magical Girls. After the First Lady and Mila disappear, Helena teaches everyone on how to use the jewels to return home. She then confirms to Mash that she'll serve as host for the Magical Girls that come to the Reality Marble from now on. While he admires her conviction, Mini Edison reminds her that the Reality Marble is unstable and will collapse eventually. Helena accepts that it will and when it does she'll go to a remote world and live in a haunted house with the Echoes. She then sees everyone off as they return to their original world.[1]
