Kariya Matou (間桐雁夜, Matō Kariya?) is the Card User of Rider in the Fifth Ainsworth Holy Grail War. After dying, his consciousness was placed in a Doll body in order to participate in the Holy Grail War.
Profile
Background
It is unknown why he threw himself into the Holy Grail War, but it is certain that he was being led around by the nose by the intentions of the head of the Matou family. One of the victims of the monster of the Matou, who cunningly manipulates people's thoughts and life. Due to the erosion incident of five years ago, that elder is already dead, but his personality still continues to be tied down.[1] After being brought back to life, the Ainsworth family gave him the Rider Class Card to stop Shirou Emiya who was defeating all the other Card Users of this War.
Appearance
He takes the appearance of Rider from the Fate/stay night series and the facial scars from his Fate/Zero counterpart. His Install has him wear a dark shirt and pants, with a stitched-together Breaker Gorgon and small plate-covered shoes. He also gains Rider's very long hair but is colored white. When revealed, his Mystic Eyes are two separate colors; one is purple and the other is a reddish pink.
Personality
Similar to the Kariya from Fate/Zero, this Kariya was also tasked to obtain the Holy Grail when he was alive. This caused him to be obsessed over the Holy Grail even after he died, muttering to himself that he must win at all cost and bring it back.
A remarkable decline in his language capability and thought ability can be seen.[1]
Role
Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA☆ILLYA
In Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA☆ILLYA Oath of Snow, Kariya battled Shirou, who was determined to win the Holy Grail and save Miyu. Kariya, who was also determined to win, removed his Breaker Gorgon and petrified Shirou, causing too much strain on his body to the point he was coughing up blood. However, before Kariya could kill him, the Kanshou and Bakuya that Shirou had thrown before return and stab Kariya in the back. This releases Shirou, who then proceeds to finish him off. Kariya asks which Heroic Spirit Shirou was supposed to be before he dies, something to which Shirou replied "EMIYA".
Abilities
The ability of Kariya as a magus in this alternate universe is currently unknown, though he appears to be physically strained while using the abilities of his Class Card, becoming tired, coughing up blood, or creating wounds on his body.
As a Card User of the Fifth Ainsworth Holy Grail War, he is able to Install the Rider Class Card. He used Rider's Nail Chains and had the Mystic Eyes of Petrification, which he kept blocked with Breaker Gorgon. He attempted to summon Bellerophon by creating the sigil with the blood that he lost while overexerting himself using his Mystic Eyes, but he was stabbed before he could complete the summoning.

As usual his original body is dead. A pitiable person whose remaining personality displaced into a puppet is used as a pawn of the Ainsworths. A remarkable decline in his language capability and thought ability can be seen.

It wasn’t drawn in the original manga, but his appearance was finally exposed and watched in the film. The silky long straight hair that undeniably felt like it would get big laughs just from appearing is from the influence of the Installed Heroic Spirit.ライダーカードの使用者【人物】

例によって本体は死亡。遺された人形置換人格がエインズワースの手駒として使われている可哀想な人。言語能力、思考能力の著しい低下が見られる。
彼がなぜ聖杯戦争に身を投じることになったのかは不明だが、間桐家当主の意向に翻弄された結果であろうことは確実である。人の意思を、人生を、老獪に操る間桐の怪物、その被害者の一人。五年前の侵食事故により、その老人は既に死亡しているのだが、今なお彼の人格は縛られ続けている。
漫画原作では描かれることはなかったが、映画にてついにその姿をお披露目することとなった。出オチ感の否めないサラサラロングストレートヘアは、インストールした英霊の影響によるもの。
