Duston (ダストン, Dasuton?) is a member of Chaldea Security Organization in Fate/Grand Order.
Profile
Background
Duston was a physicist who studied cosmic rays and worked on particle accelerators, scraping by to make ends meet. He was recruited by Marisbury Animusphere as an engineer for Chaldea fifteen years prior to the destruction of Chaldea at the end of 2017. Skeptical of Marisbury's words, he eventually agreed to take the position due to Marisbury's passion and earnestness for the project.[1]
Appearance
Personality
Duston has a dislike of Olga Marie Animusphere, viewing her as incompetent and constantly angry. He does think she held up well with everything despite her personality, thinking that they should have been more considerate of her circumstances and feeling sorry over the current state of Chaldea as of Goredolf Musik's takeover. As a normal human, he dislikes when "upstart mage jerks" make particular comments. He has come to view Chaldea as his home after spending fifteen years there.[1]
Role
Fate/Grand Order
Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia
Duston is shown working as part of mission control in the anime adaptation.
Grand Temple of Time: Solomon
Duston is shown working as part of mission control in the anime adaptation.[2]
-Moonlight/Lostroom-
Dustin appears in Fate/Grand Order - Moonlight/Lostroom, explaining to Mash Kyrielight what the Lostroom is.[3]
Second Prologue
Duston is introduced conversing with Sylvia, commenting on the Mage's Association-approved takeover of Chaldea after it was acquired by Goredolf Musik. Ritsuka Fujimaru happens upon them, and they converse about it being the end of the peace before the investigators arrive. Discussing his background and decision to stay with Chaldea unlike Sylvia who wants to leave to the Clock Tower, he warns Ritsuka about the investigators from the Association, telling them to stay calm.[1]
After Chaldea's staff are put under house arrest upon the arrival of Goredolf and Koyanskaya, Duston is present to oversee the awakening of the A-Team, but they find the coffins empty and Chaldea is then attacked by the Oprichniki.[4]
Duston has not been seen since, and it is unknown if he survived the attack. He may or may not be one of the off-screen Chaldea staff that Goredolf occasionally refers to by their surnames.
Abilities
Duston is an ordinary engineer rather than a magus. He thinks his experience with particle accelerators is what led Marisbury to recruit him.[1]
