U-Olga Marie's flag.
The Apostles of the Alien World (異星の使徒, Isei no Shito?, localized as Foreign Disciple), previously known as the Apostles of the Alien God (『異星の神』の使徒, “Isei no Kami” no Shito?, Localized as Disciple of the Foreign God), are seven Servants summoned by the Alien World for the purpose of enacting the Human Order Revision phenomenon upon the Human Order and Earth with the help of the Crypters and unknowing help of Chaldea Security Organization.
This concept was first coined after the destruction of the 7th Lostbelt, Nahui Mictlan where it was revealed that U-Olga Marie was not the mastermind behind the annihilation of Chaldea's main base in Antarctica.
History
U-Olga Marie, the Alien God, is the leader of the Apostles. Three are designated to monitor and lead the Crypters, Grigori Rasputin, Senji Muramasa, and Ashiya Douman. Three are designated to monitor and guide Chaldea, Sherlock Holmes, James Moriarty, and Alessandro di Cagliostro.
The catalyst used to summon the Apostles was Galahad's shield, Galahad having been the first Servant summoned by the Alien God, although he is not counted as one of the Apostles himself.[1]
The U-Olga Marie's status as an Apostle is unknown to her, believing herself to be the one manipulating proceedings directly. Sherlock Holmes is one of those recognized as the Apostles of the Alien God to be summoned, sent to aid Chaldea in stopping Goetia so he couldn't prevent the Alien God's plans. Afterwards he was given new unknown orders that led to him wiping his memories as an Apostle and ally himself with Chaldea, avoiding investigating them to prevent him from remembering them. Coming to value his friendship with Chaldea, upon remembering he is an Apostle and his orders, he committed suicide to prevent himself from willingly following the Alien God against his new friends.
James Moriarty (Ruler) is also an Apostle, not one of the Alien God directly, but of the Alien World, the system of the Alien God used to summon Apostles. Despite using the same system, he is not loyal to the Alien God and seeks to oppose their plans, thus needs to ally with Chaldea. However, due to his dislike for Ritsuka Fujimaru for their role in allowing the Alien God's advent, he seeks to contract with Kadoc Zemlupus, take over Chaldea, and replace Ritsuka with Kadoc as the Master against the Alien God. He was summoned due to his compatibility against Sherlock Holmes, with his mission being to restore Sherlock's memories and expose him as an Apostle, then defeat him when he became compelled to follow the Alien God's role for him.
After U-Olga Marie sacrifices herself to help Chaldea defeat ORT, the only Apostles remaining are Rasputin and Alessandro di Cagliostro. Rasputin sees no need to restore Olga's Saint Graph, but he muses that Cagliostro will probably do so and put her to use as a mindless Servant. From this statement, it could be inferred that Cagliostro has a nasty personality, and is the only one who has remain unseen and had his/her identity hidden from the eyes of Chaldea.
From the perspective of Chaldea, they learn of the three Alter Ego Apostles of the Alien God during the first four Lostbelt Orders.[2] Knowing of Rasputin and Douman, they are led to believe Tamamo Vitch Koyanskaya is one of them due to her purposeful manipulation of words and her similar status as an Alter Ego Servant.[3] They learn the truth of Koyanskaya and the existence of Muramasa in the Atlantic Lostbelt.[4] They later learn the truth of Holmes and Moriarty in the Traum Singularity.[5] They are unaware of the truth of U-Olga and the existence of Alessandro di Cagliostro, but they do learn that their true enemy is the Alien World and that Marisbury Animusphere desired the Human Order Revision in the South American Lostbelt.
Characteristics
Of the Apostles known to Chaldea Security Organization during the first six Lostbelt Orders, three were summoned as Alter Ego Servants. They work with the Crypters where necessary, but they do not directly obey them. Their intended purpose is to oversee the Fantasy Tree's growth and report the Crypters' actions to the Alien God. Tamamo Vitch Koyanskaya works alongside them as an independent party.
The other three were summoned and tasked with aiding Chaldea and guide them through the Lostbelts.
Known Apostles
- The God - U-Olga Marie, whose original manifestation was an accident but was repurposed to serve as an overseer for the other Apostles.
- The Malignant Incarnation - Ashiya Douman, summoned for the surveillance of the Lostbelt Kings and to sow seeds of discord amongst the Lostbelts to prevent them from uniting.[6]
- The Priest - Rasputin, summoned for the surveillance of the Crypters and the Lostbelts.[6]
- The Atlas Slayer - Senji Muramasa, summoned as a fail-safe to ensure the advent of the Alien God by thwarting Kirschtaria Wodime's plot to betray it.[6]
- The Detective - Sherlock Holmes, summoned to help Chaldea defeat Goetia so that he couldn't prevent the Alien God's advent, then aid Chaldea in defeating six of the seven Lostbelts. Holmes, upon being given the new orders, had his memories wiped and became a defector to Chaldea. However, he unwittingly began defying his orders by continuing to aid Chaldea.
- The Professor - James Moriarty, summoned as a fail-safe in the event that Sherlock Holmes sided wholeheartedly with Chaldea.[6] He later defected himself and tried to take control of Chaldea but was met with failure.
- The Count of Despair - Alessandro di Cagliostro, summoned as a reserve Apostle to be used in the event that all of the other Apostles proved insufficient or were killed in action. Ultimately did not fulfill his original intended role as a result of Ashiya Douman's interference during the Heian-kyō Singularity.[6]
