Fairy King ÁbartachWP (妖精王アヴァータ?) was a fairy in Irish mythology.
Profile
Background
Ábartach of the DanaanWP, also known as Giolla Deacair (人ギラ・ダッカ?), was a fairy king ruling over one of ErinWP's fairy kingdoms. Appearing in the Fenian CycleWP, he formed an alliance with the Knights of Fianna, but Diarmuid Ua Duibhne ended up in battle with one of the king's knights, or even Ábartach himself, depending on the account. Diarmuid's swordplay left an enormous impression upon him after the end of the battle.[1]
Appearance
Personality
Possessing a tenacious and self-centered personality, Ábartach greatly wished to fight Diarmuid wielding his two swords, rejecting fighting him with his two spears as insufficent.[1]
Role
Fate/Grand Order
Drawn into Chaldea's Simulator, the remnants of Ábartach's soul manifest as a curse residing within the simulator.[1]
Abilities
When Ábartach first manifests, Mash Kyrielight notes that he far surpasses the NPC data in Chaldea's combat simulations and that those readings shouldn't even be possible.[1]
Combat
Ábartach is shown fighting Yagyuu Munenori on equal ground. Regrettably, Munenori was unable to settle their duel before the Fairy King left. Apparently, he was dissatisfied with Munenori's swordsmanship because he wasn't a dual wielder. Munenori considers Ábartach quite a formidable foe and claims that his swordsmanship is something to behold. He says that no Human could make use of such technique.[1]
Lancer Diarmuid Ua Duibhne fights Ábartach for a while, until Diarmuid eventually confesses that he is unable to finish Ábartach off with his current Saint Graph. Mash Kyrielight also states that Ábartach shows no signs of disappearing, and that it'll be fiendishly difficult to defeath him. Diarmuid uses Gáe Buidhe but it has no effect. Ábartach wishes to duel with swords alone so no other weapon is capable of laying him to rest. It isn't until Diarmuid transforms into his Saber Class Saint Graph that he defeats the Fairy King.[1]
