The Fortress of Millennia (ミレニア城塞, Mirenia Jōsai?) is the headquarters of the Yggdmillennia magus clan, located in Trifas, Romania.

Characteristics

The Fortress is a gigantic castle sitting atop a small hill, towering above the streets of Trifas.[1] It is located north-east of Trifas,[2] at the easternmost tip of the north side of the city,[3] surrounded by three hectares of forests[2] and grasslands further to the east at the other end of a sheer cliff,[3] over which the east side of the fortress rampart is suspended, with the drop over several meters to the ground.[4] The Fortress of Millennia encircles a portion of Trifas within its walls, and outside those walls are various constructions, the number of which have steadily increased over the past three hundred.[3] Trifas is situated on a plateau rising from west to east, so one can watch over the entire city from the highest point of the fortress.[2]

The castle has a throne room,[1] and a flower garden.[3] It also has a dungeon with eight cells, filled with rotten wood, straw, and spider webs from having been unused for so long.[5]

The walls of the fortress are imbued with a spell that contains both strong interference and detection magecraft. Due to the countless magical defences that cover the surface of the walls, even a Servant would probably require a suitable destructive force to make the fortress fall.[5]

The Fortress of Millennia is the oldest building in Trifas. It has never changed hands from the Middle Ages until the present day, weathering through wars with the Ottoman Turks, the Black Death, and modern war.[1] After stealing the Greater Grail from the German Third Reich during World War II, Darnic Prestone Yggdmillennia hides it within the fortress.[1]

During the Great Holy Grail War, Assassin of Red uses her Noble Phantasm Hanging Gardens of Babylon to destroy two thirds of the fortress and retrieve the Greater Grail from its depths.[6]
