...though it also caused Add (Gray's Mystic Code) to lose consciousness. This was the final hurdle which enabled Waver and Gray to intercept Doctor Heartless and his servant Faker form fulfilling there plans with the servant, tomb, and stolen Emiya Magic Crest.

Potential Routes

In the original concept there were four additional routes that were meant to be implemented for Shirou each with different heroines, but were never implemented due to time constraints on the title release. An Illya route (however elements of it were implemented into the Heaven's Feel route), a Rider route (though this could be considered to have been followed by Fate/hollow ataraxia), a Caster route, and the implementation of a new character a Tachie route (Tachie was an original character that was from Shirou's past, and a prototype to Mash Kyrielight from Fate/Grand Order. She was an attempted inclusion in the 2006 Anime and the 2010 Movie as well but was never fully implemented.)

Servant Compatibility

While it is stated that Saber Artoria Pendragon is the #1 servant that Shirou Emiya will most likely summon, there are other servants that match him in compatibility. Servants besides Artoria Pendragon and EMIYA that Shirou Emiya can summon with good compatibility are Spartacus, and Florence Nightingale, It is also said he would get along well with Anne Bonny and Mary Read.

Potential Romances

In the original concept there were talks about having Shirou possess romantic relations with the Einzberns maids Leysritt and Sella but they were discarded, though he appears to be on good terms with them outside of Fate/stay night.[citation needed] There was also a romantic scene planned for Saber Alter, but was never included in the original work, although they also appear to be on good terms beyond the first game.

April Fool's Day Joke Route

Type Moon has a tradition of celebrating April Fools and one of the most popular way's it does is with fake or one time only video games, and Shirou Emiya is a victim of this thanks to French Bread the creators of the Melty Blood fighting game series. They hinted at a Fate fighting game set to release in April 1, 2014, called Notorious Brand and even offered plotlines and screenshots of the game. In the game, the main protagonist would be Shirou Emiya one year after the Heaven's Feel route, with him once again hunting a mysterious shadow hunting and killing innocents in Fuyuki. In this version, he is still using a puppet body but he has mastered Unlimited Blade Works, however he is unable to scratch the shadow. The shadow is revealed to be Stanrobe Calhin, a Dead Apostle turned ghost who has fused with the remnants of the destroyed grail, and is determined to destroy everything he can. In order to stop this, Zelretch summons Servants to combat him and thus creates the plot for the fighting game. As it was an April Fool Joke, this game was never released.

Fate/Grand Order

Kinoku Nasu and Takeuchi Takashi based the Fate/Grand Order protagonist Ritsuka Fujimaru physical appearances off of Shirou Emiya and Rin Tohsaka with Shirou for the female version and Rin for the male version, basically gender bent versions. Nasu himself stated that he wanted Fate/Grand Order to be a spiritual successor to the Fate series though while the main character looks like them, they were meant to be the player themselves as they play the game and go through their story though the character becomes more fleshed out as the events transpire.

Shirou Emiya (Fate/kaleid - Miyu's World) Wiki Page

After the collapse of the giant, Shirou attempts to approach EMIYA, wanting to say somethings before he left, only for the latter to stop him saying they have nothing to say to each other, and that he is about to disappear. Shirou contemplates on the parallels and opposites between them and how they embody two extremes of their choices. Shirou then suddenly falls but Sakura, Rin and Luvia run to help him up, causing EMIYA to remark how stupid he is that he needs help just to stand up. Shirou then admits that EMIYA is right, but that is exactly what makes him who he is. This causes the Archer Servant to be stunned, and then to ask him if that is really worth boasting about as he disappears smiling. Shirou contemplates how all the things he had let go, are still alive in another world, and the same is true for the opposite and that one day these very things could be their salvation.
