« A paradise full of life without humans. A hell where weapons run rampant, and brutality fills the air.
This world is utterly closed off.
Why are you here? »

(Taigong Wang)

The Tunguska Special Territory (ツングースカ特殊領域, Tsungūsuka Tokushu Ryōiki?), also called the Tunguska Sanctuary, is the Reality Marble of Tamamo Vitch Koyanskaya manifested upon the blank world in a similar manner to a Singularity or Lostbelt during the Human Order Revision in Fate/Grand Order. It originated in the Tunguska region of Russia in 1908. It takes place after the British Lostbelt, and deals with Chaldea's final battle with Koyanskaya and her NFF Services.

Map of Tunguska.

Tunguska Special Sanctuary is a paradise with no foreign intruders and a hell filled with weapons striding in order to kill humans. Da Vinci says that this domain should be collapsing on itself. However, Taigong Wang says that in the real world, that would be the case, but there’s a loophole. This entire special domain including the shell is most likely Koyanskaya herself. Her Saint Graph is expanding endlessly and enshrines herself within the old Tunguska forest region.[1]

The creatures, plants, and War-beasts; the creatures of this world do not mate at all. They don’t grow up, they don’t obtain any experience, their genes don’t combine and they do not transform. Every creature within this domain are siblings that have been given birth out of one mother.[1]

However, there is only one life cycle. The cycle is known as the food chain. Birth, life and death. Eat, be eaten, kill and be killed. The difference here is the creatures here have been born out of one person, Koyanskaya. Everything, everything is created with a decided form. The natural cycle that is the food chain is the same. The cycle of brutality and cruelty filled with slaughter is the same. Either one is equally the same. They are born from Koyanskaya, so naturally they’ll return back to Koyanskaya as well. This world is definitely closed off.[1]

Da Vinci states that no matter how twisted this world is, this is how Koyanskaya perceives the world which is her mental state. Since the natural laws of the world are useless within this domain, Da Vinci deduces that Koyanskaya can do anything outside the information that was discussed.[1]

Prologue

A representative of the Wandering Sea reminds Sion Eltnam Sokaris they had permitted to stay in the Wandering Sea for one year of virtual time on the bleached Earth in exchange for the newly issued eighth Contract of Atlas. The proposed time is nearing, so they ask Sion if the date will remain unchanged. Sion confirms that is the case, saying she’ll be grateful if they continue to take care of Chaldea. The Magi of the Wandering Sea agree to do so in recognition of her genius and end communication.[2]

Sion was surprised the Wandering Sea had contacted her unexpectedly. Communications came from the Gate of Rebirth, Ganne, and recalling the Wandering Sea accepted a Clock Tower Magus as an apprentice around 1000 AD, Sion wonders if they chose someone from a relative time period to serve as negotiator. But deciding not to worry about it, she has TRISMEGISTUS II show her today’s catastrophe.[2]

A Singularity has been detected, but while it manifested in January 2017, it was established back in 1908. Microscopic at first, it had expanded massively in the past few days. Sion surmises it must have experienced a century’s worth of time in an instant similar to a Lostbelt. If left unchecked, it will spread all over Eurasia and humanity will be reduced to lower animals. Sion commends Beast IV for potentially removing humanity from the top of the food chain.[2]

At her behest, TRIMEGISTUS II sends an urgent response to Chaldea’s top brass that a Juvenile Beast has been detected. Suppression mission will commence within 24 hours and it is estimated the battle will be done under special conditions similar to the British Lostbelt. Also, because the base is currently undergoing year-end renovations, neither Rayshift nor Zero Sail can be used. Onsite travel will thus be conducted by the Storm Border, with all staff members expected to be onboard. The target is Chaldea’s archenemy, Tamamo Vitch Koyanskaya.[2]

Sion remarks the Singularity is where Koyanskaya has been hiding ever since she fled from Britain. She probably wouldn’t have originally revealed her nest until Chaldea and the Alien God were eliminated. But even in her panicked state, she is still a powerful enemy who requires a lot to defeat. The battle against her is an unavoidable step in uniting Chaldea’s forces against the Alien God, but according to TRIMEGISTUS II, no matter what, Chaldea will be eliminated.[2]

Beyond the Walls of the World

Someone recalls how a pure white light engulfed them and the nearby trees. The light was blinding and took the lives of those that lived in the forest without giving them the time to react. It was a sudden power that rained down from the heavens, possessed of neither reason nor emotion and rendered both resistance and defiance futile. It was just like a fire begotten by man.[3]

Chaldea is heading for Tunguska to defeat Koyanskaya. Captain Nemo reminds everyone the plan is to descend on Koyanskaya’s location and assault her with maximum firepower to make for a short decisive battle if everything goes perfectly. But he warns them to be ready for ambushes if Sion’s warning about “special conditions” regarding their destination holds true.[3]

Goredolf Musik reminds Ritsuka that while the objective of this mission is to eliminate Koyanskaya, who has been identified as the juvenile Beast IV, it is also a test run for eliminating the seventh Lostbelt. Mash adds it is an operation that assumes usage of the Black Barrel. Leonardo da Vinci says while adjustment for the Black Barrel remains difficult, they have gained a new ally in the guardian fairy of the Black Barrel’s wielder, Habetrot. Habetrot materializes upon hearing her name, assuring she will protect Mash’s Spirit Origin.[3]

A few hours ago at the Wandering Sea dock, Sion informed the Chaldeans that a magical signature that had existed in old Russia for several months now has rapidly expanded in the last few days. Thanks to that rapid expansion, it is now visible.[3]

Sherlock Holmes pointed out the precise location is Tunguska, the site of the famous Tunguska Explosion that occurred in 1908 AD. The entire forest was incinerated by the heat and damaged further by the shockwaves. Miraculous enough, there were no confirmed human casualties, but countless fauna and flora were lost.[3]

Ritsuka recalled hearing the explosion was caused by a meteorite. Both Sion and Da Vinci asserted the Tunguska Explosion was caused by natural phenomenon and not by magical means. However, that leads to the question of why this magical signature is in Tunguska.[3]

Holmes revealed it is a unique domain that is neither Singularity nor Lostbelt formed on the blank surface of Tunguska. It has no Storm Wall nor does it have “variance” as far as humanity goes. Koyanskaya is the cause of this abnormality, so it’s safe to assume it is her stronghold.[3]

Goredolf then tried to explain the plan on how they’ll eliminate Koyanskaya, only to suddenly interrupted by Fou.[3]

Holmes posited it is likely absorbing Cernunnos‘ curses have left Koyanskaya in a defective state. At the very least, according to SHEBA’s observations, her power doesn’t seem to surpass the tremendous power she displayed in Olympus. Holmes couldn’t, however, ascertain if she had actually gotten weaker.[3]

Jingle Abel Meuniere reminded everyone that Koyanskaya saved them back in Britain. Nonetheless, she is still an enemy of humanity nor is she the type to repent after suffering a grievous wound. Meuniere, therefore, believed she had a reason to flee back to her domain.[3]

Da Vinci agreed and suspected Koyanskaya was either recovering her lost power or seeking to expand it. But there is no reason for her to reveal her domain because she sustained an injury. Da Vinci thus suspected Koyanskaya no longer had a reason to keep it hidden. Holmes agreed that is most likely, deducing the form Koyanskaya took in Olympus was incomplete as she lacked the horns of matured Beasts.[3]

Goredolf told everyone Koyanskaya isn’t as evil as she seems, having provided humanitarian aid to the impoverished and was sincere in her business dealings with those who sought help. But they cannot afford to overlook the growth of a Beast. He felt it was his responsibility to bear, which is especially true for those who knew the old Chaldea. But that is why he wants to take responsibility, even if he has no right to do so.[3]

He then announced for everyone to prepare for battle against Koyanksaya, calling the operation a test run for destroying the seventh Lostbelt and a rehearsal for their upcoming confrontation with the Alien God. It is expected the Black Barrel will see active deployment.[3]

In the present, Da Vinci states using the Black Barrel puts a burden on Ritsuka and Mash since it uses “life” itself as a bullet. But if used without involving a Command Spell, it is now possible to use it with only Habetrot’s assistance. This method will turn it into a physical weapon instead of a conceptual one, but it remains an effective weapon.[3]

Goredolf inquires on the development of the main battery that will make use of the Essence of the Holy Sword they had acquired in the British Lostbelt. Da Vinci says it is currently underway and proceeding at a rapid pace thanks to Sion. It will not be ready for the current operation, unfortunately.[3]

Holmes says the plan to eliminate the seventh Lostbelt is centered around Excalibur. This will be supplemented by the simultaneous summoning of Chaldea’s Heroic Spirits made possible by running the Storm Border’s furnaces in parallel. The plan is to have large swaths of Heroic Spirits storm enemy territory while kept in a state of constant materialization. It will solely be utilized for the purpose of exterminating Koyanskya, but it will serve as a test run for the elimination of the seventh Lostbelt.[3]

For the current operation, the plan is to have Ritsuka and Mash descend once the Storm Border is close enough to Koyanskya’s magical signature, accompanied by up to ten Servants. They will then quickly move in and eliminate Koyanskya. Six Servants have been carefully selected for this mission and are currently on standby in Briefing Room 2.[3]

The Storm Border soon pierces the barrier of the Tunguska Special Territory. But the moment Chaldea enters the Special Territory, Nemo and Holmes nearly collapse. The Black Barrel also goes dormant, causing Habetrot to dematerialized.[3]

At Holmes’s urging, Da Vinci checks Briefing Room 2 and finds the Servants are being forcibly returned to Spirit Origins one after another.[3]

Similar to the British Lostbelt, Tunguska is a realm that denies human history. Holmes realizes this must be the “special condition” TRISMEGISTUS II predicted. Chaldea had learned from its experiences in Britain and added several safety features to the summoning system. It seems, however, Tunguska exceeds even those.[3]

Da Vinci, despite being a Servant, is unaffected because her essence is that of a present existence, not a Heroic Spirit. Mash is the same since she is a Demi-Servant. Nemo can maintain himself slightly thanks to his two Spirit Origins.[3]

At his behest, Ritsuka, Mash, Da Vinci, Meuniere, and Goredolf board the Shadow Border to head into Tunguska as an independent unit before he has the Storm Border retreat from the Special Territory. Holmes disappears soon after they board, bothered by how Tunguska’s “special conditions” are similar to those of Britain and finding it possible Koyanskaya has learned of various “threats” that exist in Lostbelts.[3]

The falling after being dropped out the

The Shadow Border falling after being dropped out the Storm Border

The Shadow Border is dropped out of the Storm Border and lands in Tunguska. Da Vinci finds not all Heroic Spirits were forced dematerialized and assumes Tunguska only rejects those who rely heavily on human history. But Ibuki-douji shows herself, disagreeing with Da Vinci’s assessment since she is here.[3]

Goredolf remembers Ibuki was one of the Servants selected for this mission and is pleased to see she is safe, but he wonders why that is. Mash assumes it is because Ibuki is a Divine Spirit Servant. Da Vinci realizes that only non-human Servants can manifest in Tunguska.[3]

But it seems Ibuki can’t remember anything about herself beyond her strength, personality, and the fact she is Ritsuka’s Servant. Da Vinci suspects Ibuki’s memory became abnormal in exchange for keeping materialized. Ibuki reassures everyone despite her memory problems she is still plenty powerful.[3]

Great Collision

The Chaldeans conclude they will need to readapt their original plan since they lack the Servants for a blitz and Koyanskaya is 150km away from their current location. They’re currently on the Special Territory’s southern edge, so reaching Koyanskaya in the center will be a long trek. It is also hard to guess what is happening beyond the Border’s scan range. Ritsuka, Mash, and Ibuki are thus sent out to investigate the surrounding area.[4]

Increasing her size to three meters, Ibuki carries Ritsuka and Mash as she runs at high speeds, undeterred by the terrain. She soon stops, though, upon sensing enemies.[4]

After defeating the enemy, Ibuki returns to her usual size. Ritsuka and Mash notice that the enemy resembled the Yaga from the Russian Lostbelt and the Kali from the Indian Lostbelt. But they seemed lifeless, devoid of anger, fear, and the will to fight for life. Ibuki can’t remember clearly, but she knows there is something “wrong” with that sort of enemy.[4]

Three Giants from the Scandinavian Lostbelt then appear. Considering them truly formidable, Ibuki decides to use her full power on them. Habetrot even manifests from the Black Barrel to permit its usage.[4]

The One Walking to Forever

Ibuki depowers after the Giants are slain, and Habetrot goes back into the Black Barrel.[5]

Ritsuka and Mash find the Giants were similar to Koyanskaya’s past minions, recalling how she took creatures from one Lostbelt into another as her minions. A voice calls them Lost Familiars, saying the ones stationed in Tunguska automatically attack whoever they consider enemies.[5]

The Chaldeans are cautious, thinking it’s another enemy ambush. The voice’s source unveils himself and insists he is an ally summoned as a Rider for this very occasion. He asks the Chaldeans to leave the elimination of Daji’s shadow, who’s trying to usurp Beast IV, to him being already familiar with her and having done additional investigations.[5]

To his disappointment, the Chaldeans are wary of him. His female companion speaks up, reminding him that his euphemism is why she said she’d talk to the heroes first. She then shows herself and introduces as the dragon slayer of Kiev, Dobrynya Nikitich. The man introduces himself as Taigong Wang.[5]

The Nikitich Solution

Tunguska Explosion

Someone recalls they came into being from countless voices so feeble they could barely be heard. They frantically collected them and strained them to hear, gaining self-awareness as they did. In an instant less than a second while they were being incinerated, they learn the voices’ story. In their last moments, the voices celebrated their genesis, calling them their representative and the greatest of their kind.[6]

Mash recounts Taigong was a genius tactician of the Shang Dynasty who, according to the Investiture of the Gods, was a practitioner of Xian Arts. Da Vinci and Goredolf are both very pleased to have the disciple of the most exalted Taoist deity Yuanshi Tianzu, and the who overthrew the Shang Dynasty as an ally.[6]

Goredolf, having read the English version of Investiture of the Gods, asks Taigong if Daji, the concubine of King Zhou who ruined the country and whose true identity is Golden White Face, was a Beast. Taigong confirms she was.[6]

Ritsuka is reminded of Tamamo-no Mae upon hearing Golden White Face. But Mash whispers to them that Tamamo has said on record that she and Daji are not the same person.[6]

Taigong confirms Da Vinci’s suspicions that he and Nikitich are Stray Servants. But he’s had to utilize fangshu to keep himself from disappearing while she is perfectly fine.[6]

Mash and Ritsuka properly introduce themselves to Taigong and Nikitich. Taigong reveals he has heard of Chaldea’s exploits from Yuanshi Tianzu.[6]

He knows Chaldea has come to Tunguska to eliminate Vitch before she fully matures into a Beast, and for the sake of his lending strength, he has waited for their arrival. But Nikitich isn’t so ready to lend them her strength. She wishes to test their strength herself, even though she already saw them defeat Lost Familiars earlier.[6]

Nikitich attacks the heroes from the air on her horse turned wyvern mount. Tiangong uses his fangshu on Ritsuka and Mash so they float like Ibuki can and fight Nikitich on my equal ground. He also joins them on his own mount, Sibuxiang.[6]

At the battle’s climax, Taigong uses wind sorcery to temporarily lower Nikitch’s ceiling for flight. Taking advantage of this, Ibuki utilizes Mash’s shield as a springboard and slashes the wings of Nikitich’s wyvern. With it impossible for her to continue their aerial duel, Nikitich concedes victory to Chaldea, at least for now.[6]

Returning to the ground, Taigong informs the Chaldeans that he and Nikitich have been in Tunguska well before they arrived and so possess more detailed knowledge of the area. He wants to be their guide, but first he wants to know more about Chaldea—the trials they’ve overcome, their current state, and their knowledge of the six Lostbelts.[6]

Recreation of

Recreation of Ivan the Terrible

After Ritsuka shares this information with him, Taigong reveals the quickest route to Tunguska’s center is through the nest of what he calls a highly exceptional unit. He requests the Chaldeans’ aid in eliminating said unit, which they agree to.[6]

Moving on ahead, the heroes are soon caught in a lightning-filled blizzard. There they see a recreation of Ivan the Terrible, the highly exceptional unit Taigong spoke of. The heroes move to eliminate him, with Ibuki calling on Orochis to keep him pinned down and Habetrot appearing to allow the Black Barrel’s usage[6]

With Delicate Mad Lives

Ivan is slain, and the blizzard dissipates with his demise. Mash laments Koyanskaya had added Ivan to her arsenal as a “weapon”. Ritsuka wonders how many recreations there are. Nikitich feels there can’t be that many as she and Taigong have slain a number of them.[7]

Taigong explains there are two types of hostile lifeforms in Tunguska. First are the mass-produced recreations of the creatures from the different Lostbelts known as Lost Familiars. Second is the recreations of individual hostile entities like Ivan from earlier known as Lost Weapons. There are six of each type so far, but Taigong wonders how many Koyanskaya intends to collect, seeing there are only seven Lostbelts. He believes that would be unlike her.[7]

Tunguska River

Later, moving along a river, Taigong explains the Lost Familiars have two types of behavior. They either standby at accumulation points or patrol along a certain route. The heroes is far off from either, so it’s relatively safe.[7]

Nikitich meanwhile goes fishing with Ibuki, Fou, and Sibuxiang watching.[7]

Seeing he seems aware of the Human Order, Da Vinci deduces Taigong was summoned by the World itself instead of the land. Taigong confirms that is the case and claims he would normally be a Grand Caster, though he does wonder if he qualifies for Grand Rider. But for whatever reason, he has manifested as a regular Rider.[7]

However, regardless of the state of his Spirit Origin, he has been tasked with eliminating Koyanksya, the Beast IV candidate. But seeing his current self has very much reduced magical power, he asks Chaldea to help him. Ritsuka and Mash readily agree to help him.[7]

Sharing information with him, Ritsuka and Mash inform Taigong that Koyanskaya had collected Yaga from the Russian Lostbelt and Giants from the Scandinavian Lostbelt. He wonders then what she collected from the Chinese Lostbelt when he asks Ritsuka and Mash if there were chariots with tiger heads there. Ritsuka and Mash recall the Duōduō Yìshàn, but Mash points out those were machines. To her surprise, though, Taigong reveals the ones he and Nikitich have encountered in Tunguska are alive, the tiger part specifically.[7]

After confirming Koyanskaya’s forces are comprised of what she acquired from the Lostbelts, Taigong explains the six species of Lost Familiars are active in small numbers around patrol routes. Lost Weapons, meanwhile, exist for base defense and to be deployed in abnormal situations. Because they control the leylines, they keep reappearing every time they’re slain and provide an inexhaustible supply of familiars. But their regeneration will be delayed for a while if they’re struck down thoroughly. Moreover, they’re completely autonomous from Koyanskaya, so the heroes are unlikely to be noticed, unless they’re near the “castle” in the center.[7]

Nikitich eventually catches a fish, having dove into the river and caught it by hand. She shakes herself dry as if she were an animal, leading Ibuki to presume based on her ears that she is a type of animal incarnation.[7]

Mash asks Nikitich if she is a beastman. Nikitich says she is not, but her wife was a strong, beautiful she-giant, more beast than man. The Chaldeans assume Nikitich has animal characteristics and is a woman (Nikitich is normally a man) because of her wife’s blessing. Nikitich gives no denial nor confirmation whatsoever, however.[7]

Taigong later admits he has a theory about by what principle Tunguska employs to force out human Heroic Spirits. He wants to tell the Chaldeans, but first, he wants to show them two locations. Both will give them a better understanding of Koyanskaya and explain why Nikitich and Ibuki aren’t being forced out.[7]

Tunguska Canyon

Flying to avoid conflict with the Lost Familiars, the heroes eventually reach their destination: a canyon. There they find sheep-like creatures that are neither native to the original Tunguska nor Phantasmal Species. They are the common species around and nothing preys upon them, according to Taigong.[7]

Goredolf notes the lack of a feeding ground nearby, to which Taigong reveals they mainly hunt in forests and rivers by specimens with the role of hunter. The Chaldeans are all shocked that he said “role” in this context when he further explains the creatures form communities that are comparably human. Mash thinks they’re similar to the Yaga, but Taigong assures they were never human.[7]

Life Zone

Life Zone

He then reveals every living thing in the Special Territory is a new species. But in terms of both composition and ecology, he declares they shouldn’t exist. He hasn’t a clue why Koyanskaya would do this.[7]

To corroborate what Taigong said, the heroes made a series of observations and sample collections. The samples are collected in the Ortenaus shield, and their data is sent to the Shadow Border at regular intervals for real-time analysis.[7]

After an hour, Chaldea concludes that there are absolutely no signs of humans in the Special Territory. Taigong calls the environment they’ve observed the Life Zone, a paradise where the only violence is the food chain. But there also exists its polar opposite——Hell.[7]

Out of the Everywhere, and Other Extraordinary Slaughters

A Beast recalls when they first learned of humanity’s use of firearms. They grinned at the violent, contradictory, selfish nature of mankind and concludes if they’re all like that, then they must be the same as well.

Dead Zone

Dead Zone

Taigong brings everyone to an area he has dubbed the Dead Zone. There they witness bizarre creatures mounted with what appear to be conventional firearms killing each other in an endless cycle.[8]

Goredolf demands an explanation from Taigong, disgusted by what he witnessed. Taigong replies that showing was the quickest way and asks what words would best convey it. Goredolf says it is in bad taste, something he’d expect from Koyanskaya and something one would naturally not want to see again.[8]

But while he understands Taigong’s reasoning, he advises him to exercise caution, worried such a sight might affect Ritsuka and Mash’s mindset. Ritsuka appreciates his concern. Goredolf calls them naïve to the point they never look away from something they should.[8]

Ibuki suddenly expands her magical energy, disgusted by the sight of the Dead Zone. She only sees killing for the sake of killing and questions if this is what fighting is. Her emotions and memories in a jumble she can’t bear to look at it anymore.[8]

Nikitich agrees with Ibuki and is reminded of the Tartars’ attack on Russian upon looking at the Dead Zone. She wonders, like Ibuki, if fighting is only just endless slaughter, but she realizes that isn’t what a bogatyr should be saying and asks everyone to forget it.[8]

But as a bogatyr, she will come rushing to protect Russia whenever it’s crisis, even if it’s a Subcategory Holy Grail War. She would have loved to have been with Chaldea in the Russian Lostbelt, boasting she can handle almost anything. To her regret, though, preventing the establishment of a Lostbelt would be impossible for her. But she still has her oath and swears to save this version of Russia.[8]

Taigong remembers that according to legend Nikitich was so dutiful he lost his wife to another warrior. Nikitich describes as a story about how he should have stopped being so righteous since he was on the verge of losing his wife. Ibuki and Goredolf are both confused why Nikitich seems upset since the wife should be the angry one.[8]

Da Vinci concludes based on her analysis that creatures have poor detection range, so the heroes should be safe if they keep their distance. Taigong calls the creatures war-beasts, leading Da Vinci to conclude they are caricatures of humankind for weapons and cruelty are exclusive to humans. She guesses Koyanskaya gave them these traits for the purpose of slaughtering humanity.[8]

Taigong congratulates Da Vinci for guessing correctly but adds a correction to her earlier analysis; the war-beasts’ limited detection range does not apply when it comes to their natural prey: humans. War-beasts targeting Ritsuka and Mash then appear, so the heroes intercept.[8]

The Ices Are Melted, The Flames Will Be Gone

It soon becomes too dangerous for Ritsuka, so Nikitich takes them into the air to create some distance. She calls Taigong purposefully cruel for putting Ritsuka in such a dangerous situation. But she understands he wanted them to experience it since he’s been there himself.[9]

She describes the war-beasts as human slaughter itself, which is why they’re so difficult. Related, she calls firearms the ultimate portable weapon, powerful and easy to use that even a child could wield one. She sees their point, but she laments it has destroyed all forms of honorable combat.[9]

Anti-air fire then forces her to return to the battlefield and eliminate the war-beasts. The heroes eventually eliminate the war-beasts, but there is still concern more will come.[9]

Da Vinci asks Taigong if Lost Weapons exist in the Dead Zone, which he confirms. He then confesses there is another reason he brought everyone to the Dead Zone besides wanting them to witness its carnage firsthand, one he didn’t even tell Nikitich about. He purposely brought them near the base of another Lost Weapon to eliminate it.[9]

Recreation of

Recreation of Surtr-Fenrir

Mash asks him to confirm if there are signs like the blizzard with the recreated Ivan. Taigong directs everyone’s attention to the sky and explains a chasm will open up in the sky if the Lost Weapon detects an intruder.[9]

What looks like the false sun of the Scandinavian Lostbelt appears, but it is actually in a hole in space from which a recreation of Surtr-Fenrir emerges. The heroes move to eliminate him, with Ibuki going “serious mode” to protect Ritsuka at Nikitich’s behest and Habetrot appearing again to allow the Black Barrel’s usage.[9]

Thy Haploid Paradise

After Surtr is eliminated, Taigong uses his Tudun technique to transfer everyone back to the river in the Life Zone.[1]

As they seem worn out, Da Vinci suggests Ritsuka and Mash return to the Border to rest up. She also wants to repair Mash’s Ortenaus and Mash can replenish her magical energy in the meantime. She has already the data on the Lost Familiars and their patrol routes, so the Border should be able to reach the heroes without being detected. They will rendezvous in two or three hours and decide on a strategy going forward. The heroes set up camp in a cave while they wait.[1]

There Taigong gives his conclusion that the Special Territory is Koyanskaya’s Reality Marble, representing her refutal of humanity and her cynicism toward civilization. But while Reality Marbles can’t normally be maintained for long periods, Koyanskaya got around that limitation by expanding her Spirit Origin to cover Tunguska.[1]

Taigong then reveals all living species in the Special Territory are siblings. He spent quite some time performing genetic analysis on them using fangshu and learned they do not interbreed, grow, learn, or evolve. They are all siblings born from the same mother.[1]

Reproductive organs are just for show, for the only life cycle is the food chain: birth , life and death. Eat, be eaten, kill and be killed. The difference here is that all life comes from Koyanskaya, created in a fixed state. The food chain and the cycle of slaughter are the same here, for all life eventually returns to Koyanskaya. This world is definitely closed off.[1]

Taigong concludes the creatures of the Special Territory have no ego or a sense of self. He supposes that means for Daji’s shadow, Koyanskaya, there is no need for life that grows, evolves, and inherits traits from before.[1]

Ritsuka asks him why he keeps referring to Koyanskaya as a “shadow”. Taigong says her scent is a little different from Daji, but he is certain Koyanskaya is an alter ego of Daji.[1]

Eulogies for the Planet of Primates I

A flashback shows Taigong’s first encounter with Daji. He knew of her true nature; she had descended upon the human world at the secret behest of the goddess Nuwa to facilitate the Shang Dynasty’s ruin, but she disobeyed Nuwa’s decree and seduced King Zhou. She was a great evil who delighted in all atrocities committed upon the innocent populace. Taigong understood he had to slay her, yet he was infatuated with her beauty.[10]

In the present, now back in the Border, Ritsuka temporarily contracts with Taigong and Nikitich. The Border is currently heading for the center of Special Territory, where Koyanskaya is believed to reside.[10]

Taigong assures everyone that Koyanskaya will not move as Daji never leaves her residence. Once she establishes her “den”, she will defend herself but not go out to attack. She will show herself only when her home is under attack.[10]

Koyanskaya’s coordinates are the same as the epicenter of the Tunguska Explosion, making Ritsuka wonder if there is a connection between the two. Taigong wonders the same thing as Daji has zero connection to the Tunguska Explosion, nor does Russia have any legends about dynasties being brought to ruin by a woman. But he thinks the way the Life Zone and Dead Zone are at odds with each other may be related to the explosion somehow.[10]

With them two hours from their destination, the heroes then discusses their chances of victory against Koyanskaya. Da Vinci says the probability of victory is 70%, though she wishes more could be done to mitigate the remaining 30%.[10]

Goredolf fears the possibility Koyanskaya may already be a fully matured Beast. But Taigong says that is impossible because despite Koyanskaya being Daji’s shadow, the heroes can move relatively freely in her territory. However, he believes she may have been debilitated by an incident. Ritsuka, Mash, and Da Vinci realize that Koyanskaya absorbing Cernnunos’ curses was the cause.[10]

Taigong then reveals he has an Anti-Beast Noble Phantasm designed to affect Daji, including her shadow. Everyone feels reassured when Koyanskaya suddenly appears inside the Border. Taigong is shocked to see Daji’s shadow outside her place of residence. He transports her, himself, Ritsuka, Mash, Ibuki, and Nikitich outside.[10]

Nikitich immediately mounts her wyvern, ready to fight Koyanskaya. Mash finds herself equipped with the Ortinaus, which Taigong admits he did so with his Tudun technique. Koyanskaya, in response to the heroes’ combat readiness, summons waves of Lost Familiars and war-beasts. Taigong holds her off while the others eliminate her minions.[10]

Eulogies for the Planet of Primates II

Four hours pass and the heroes are at serious risk of becoming overwhelmed. Taigong, therefore, uses his Anti-Beast Noble Phantasm, Great Demon Sublimation – Investiture of the Gods, on Koyanskaya, only to find, to his absolute shock, it has no effect.[11]

In response, Koyanskaya disperses her children, deciding to eliminate the heroes herself. She then turns into her juvenile Beast form, even producing the same fog when she encountered Chaldea in Olympus. Taigong uses his second Anti-Beast Noble Phantasm to protect the heroes. The heroes fight Koyanskaya, with Habetrot once again appearing to allow the Black Barrel’s usage.[11]

Taigong soon realizes the Koyanskaya they’re fighting is an off-shoot of the real one. Koyanskaya undoes her transformation and calls upon her minions to eliminate the heroes. Her minions appear in greater numbers than previously destroyed. Taigong instantly transfers the others into the Border and tells Goredolf to drive far away.[11]

Koyanskaya assumes Taigong is sacrificing himself, but Taigong assures her as a tactician he would never do that. In fact, the him Koyanskaya is speaking right now is an illusion. He then convinces Koyanskaya that it will be pointless for her to pursue the Border as he’ll bail them out with Tudun whenever she gets close. Koyanskaya claims she only went out on a whim and returns to her headquarters, promising to “entertain” the heroes herself when they come.[11]

In the Border, Taigong apologizes for his blunder. He expected Koyanskaya’s true identity to be that of Daji as a Heroic Spirit and had his Anti-Beast Noble Phantasm ready for that reason. However, only his Noble Phantasm’s secondary effect, which affects the exterior, worked on Koyanskaya, albeit very minimally. The primary effect, which affects the interior, meanwhile, had no effect at all. Taigong, therefore, concludes that Koyanskaya is not Daji’s shadow.[11]

Second Coming of Cherishment

At his request, Ritsuka and Mash tell Taigong again how Koyanskaya absorbed Cernunnos’s curses to protect Chaldea in the British Lostbelt. Her behavior there reaffirms to him she is a counterfeit of the Golden White Face, for the real Daji would never harm herself for others’ sake. But he finds it strange she has yet to reach maturity and deduces it is because her model for self-evolution is the Golden White Face, whose nine-tailed form is her ideal body.[12]

He theorizes Koyanskaya used the Lostbelts to gather her tails. The process by which she converts the creatures of the Lostbelts into her familiars would render each existence into tails. This presumably explains why the mass of her Spirit Origin is akin to that of a giant monster.[12]

Taigong presumes Koyanskaya has already converted the information of six Lostbelts into her tails, but Ritsuka recalls her only having five. Da Vinci believes Koyanskaya’s main body may only have five tails, recalling she lost one of them to Melusine during the fight at Britain’s Lake District. But Taigong states as it stands Koyanskaya’s growth state has already reached six tails, meaning her Spirit Origin is so massive it’d require power proportional to destroying six Lostbelts.[12]

Though their chances of defeating Koyanskaya seem dire, Taigong promises to find a solution; he even removed the properties of his Noble Phantasm that target Daji’s shadow. He then has everyone huddle together and places a voice-canceling ward so Koyanskaya can’t hear before proceeding to explain his plan to stop her based on the fact the Special Territory is a Reality Marble.[12]

The heroes later head for the Special Territory’s center through the Dead Zone, breaking through the war-beasts in their way. As they near the center, Meuniere is surprised to see Koyanskaya’s headquarter is modern architecture while Da Vinci is surprised it’s unprotected. Taigong assumes it’s because she wanted somewhere quiet to rest after she unintentionally debilitated herself by absorbing Cernunnos’ curses.[12]

Exiting the Border, the heroes proceed to Koyanskaya’s headquarters, the NFF Headquarters building. There they’re greeted by an anthropomorphic rabbit capable of human speech named PB. Koyanskaya assigned him to the heroes’ guide and designed him to be the only pseudo-lifeform in the territory capable of human speech. He then escorts the heroes to the building’s main hall, where he takes his leave.[12]

Koyanskaya soon arrives, surprised the heroes would waltz in her home so readily when she can spawn as many familiars and war-beasts as she sees fit. Taigong is pleasantly surprised she would converse with them and by PB’s existence since it seemed she loathed everything about humanity. Koyanskaya affirms she does but she can show some respect even though it is extremely uncommon. Hence PB, for whom she thanks the heroes for conversing with him as an equal.[12]

Taigong formally apologizes to Koyanskaya for unwittingly insulting when he mistakenly referred to her as Daji. Koyanskaya accepts his apology, calling courtesy one of the few virtues humans possess. Taigong feels, however, humanity’s sins outweigh its virtues. Koyanskaya agrees, disgusted by how humans consume everything on the planet.[12]

She confirms her objective is humanity’s extinction, though she’d rather happily watch the Alien God do so than do it herself. She couldn’t care less about Proper Human History and the Lostbelt. Her only wish is to record humanity’s last pathetic moments and put it up for auction for the rest of the universe in order to see how much human civilisation would be priced as. She seriously doubts it would have any value whatsoever.[12]

Ending the conversation, she then manifests in her six-tailed state, corroding all that belongs to the Human Order, including the Xian-class spell protecting Taigong’s Spirit Origin. Taigong thus casts a spell to protect everyone’s minds, for everything about this Beast, including its appearance, is meant to kill humans.[12]

Koyanskaya’s magical energy levels are now comparable to that of a Divine Spirit and her Spirit Origin mass is that as mentioned before. Also, even though she is yet to fully mature, the erosion of space even inside her own Reality Marble proves Koyanskaya is a Beast.[12]

Koyanskaya, Beast of Cherishment

Proclaiming the position of the fourth Beast hers, Koyanskaya states with the Beast of Comparison absent, it was inevitable for the Beast of Cherishment to take its place.[12]

Taigong realizes from her magical energy levels and the scale of her Spirit Orign that Koyanskya is forcing herself to completion, even though Cernunnos’ curses remain and she doesn’t have enough tails. He then activates Yuxu Embodiment – Enforcing the Investiture of the Gods to give the heroes some protection against Koyanskaya, believing it will work since she modeled herself after Golden White Face. Everyone battles Koyanskaya afterward, with Habetrot reinforcing the Black Barrel to maximum power.[12]

The Only Neat Thing to Do

It is revealed that Koyanskaya is a Nature Spirit born from the convergence of the pain and anguish of the animals and nature that perished in the Tunguska Explosion. The anguished voices of the animals composing her felt pleasant to her, for death, whether by disaster or plunder, was all the same to her. It all amused her and made her smile.[13]

From those anguished voices, she learned humans have hunted animals for purposes beyond survival and coexisted with them for purposes unrelated to the advancement of their species. But she felt neither anger nor sorrow toward it, as she was disaster incarnate. She considered pointless to side either humans or animals.[13]

However, she found it inexcusable that humans coexisted for the sake of happiness, not proliferation, and procreated to share joy, not to preserve their species. As a living being, cherishment is a paradoxical love. In nature, love is possessed by those who nurture their species, but emotions nurtured for the sake of rapture are incomprehensible to Koyanskaya.[13]

Someone had named her Yaskaya, but lack of memory caused her to corrupt it into Koyanskaya. It was at that moment she understood cherishing was evil, thinking it defied the laws of nature and it was too early for life to possess. She believed it would warp all life on the planet.[13]

In 2017, she incarnated in place of Beast IV’s vacant position. With cherishment being her nature as an Evil, Koyanskaya sought to understand a mother’s love. But being a solitary existence, she decided to “adopt” children by assimilating a lifeform from each Lostbelt into her tails. Her idea wasn’t wholly hers, though, rather she imitated a legend passed down to her Spirit Origin about how Golden White Face birthed many lives from her tails. With the information she acquired, she gave birth to many lifeforms and formed her sanctuary.[13]

Nikitich and Taigong unleash their Noble Phantasms on Koyanskaya, restoring the distorted space to normal. Ritsuka then empowers Mash with two Command Spells. To Koyanskaya’s surprise, Mash comes from above and hits her with a Bunker Bolt. Nikitich had flung Mash earlier, taking advantage of the room’s high ceiling.[13]

Koyanskaya’s transformation is undone, but she mocks the group for thinking they had won and calls forth 999 war-beasts. She explains her Authority as a Beast, Nega-Weapon, means they can use guns better than anyone else for they have been killed more than anyone else. The war-beasts aim at Ritsuka.

At Nikitich’s urging, Ritsuka empowers her with their last Command Spell. Nikitich then activates Belza Damask and shields Ritsuka from ensuing gunfire. Fortunately, she survives thanks to Koyanskaya’s Authority as a Beast, Nega-Weapon, being less effective against Heroic Spirits, especially those closer to nature like herself. Ibuki quickly moves behind Koyanskaya, threatening to decapitate her if she doesn’t end the battle now.[13]

Taigong thinks to himself that since they’re in her Reality Marble, beheading Koyankskaya could kill her. He worries if she doesn’t die, it will either result in an infinite number of Lost Familiars spawning or an infinite number of war-beasts firing their guns at them. He fears he may not be able to protect Ritsuka and if they lose them reclaiming Proper Human History will become impossible.[13]

Using Xian Arts to analyze Koyanskaya’s Spirit Core, he comes to understand the Special Territory’s center is her veiled heart. He also realizes her true identity and reveals this to everyone.[13]

The Chaldeans accept Koyanskaya is the embodiment of the Tunguska Explosion as there are cases of concepts becoming Heroic Spirits and a disaster of a global isn’t something human history can ignore. Her being an Alter Ego-class Servant is proof of that.[13]

Taigong claims Koyanskaya is quite apathetic toward humanity to the point her typical cruelty is just routine for her. She hates humanity, but not enough to bring about its extinction personally. Seeing that happen is all the interest she can muster in humanity. Her disinterest is because her grudges come from the accumulated thoughts of the animals that blamed humans for the Tunguska Explosion. Taigong says anyone who sees her ecosphere would understand she has something takes precedence over human annihilation.[13]

With her dream of becoming a Beast shattered by Chaldea, Koyanskaya threatens to self-destruct and take everyone with her. Taigong proposes, however, an option where everyone can live and invites Koyanskaya to accept it since she is apathetic towards humanity. But Koyanskaya reveals her Special Territory will remain rooted in Tunguska until she reaches maturity as a Beast. As long as it remains, it will cause an error in the restoration of the Human Order.[13]

Taigong therefore proposes moving the Special Territory to a domain outside the Human Order: outer space. He will temporarily freeze Koyanskaya in space-time, then launch her into space. The space-time freeze will be automatically undone once she reaches a safe haven. But space travel will be impossible unless Taigong shrinks Koyanskaya down into a much smaller size, even though the mass won’t change. As for the space-time freeze, he’ll slow down her processes to their utmost limit to achieve a similar effect.[13]

Koyanskaya is hesitant to accept Taigong’s proposal. Taigong tells her humanity will be nonexistent in outer space, so she’ll be free to either reach for Beasthood, expand her domain, or even grant her children self-awareness. The issue, however, is that the atmosphere is currently encircled by the branches of the Fantasy Trees. Chaldea thus needs to cut down the remaining Trees and restore the Human Order, and prime the Special Territory so it launches during the restoration process.[13]

Goredolf points, however, since Koyanskaya’s mass will remain unchanged, it will take a tremendous amount of energy to launch the Special Territory into space. Taigong replies it is possible by the example of Noah’s Ark. He will, however, need to Koyanskaya stay still as he casts the spell. Koyanskaya reluctantly accepts Taigong’s proposal when Ritsuka tells her it will benefit both sides.[13]

With Ritsuka’s magical energy supporting him, Taigong casts his spell. Afterward, particles of light permeate throughout the entire domain and envelop Koyanskaya. Taigong explains space will be compacted until it is an “egg”, similar to a World Egg. It will launch automatically into space simultaneously with the restoration of the Human Order.[13]

Koyanskaya asks Taigong why he would do this for her considering she isn’t the Evil he fell for and everything she has done. Taigong tells he felt like it and believes by doing this he can help balance out all the evil humanity has committed. Koyanskaya suspects he didn’t devise his plan on the spot, certain he meant it for someone else.[13]

Koyanskaya's World Egg

Koyanskaya's World Egg

She then warns Chaldea to not forget she will break out her egg and instantly reestablish her domain in Tunguska, devouring humanity, if she ever feels they’re incapable of fulfilling their mission. Ritsuka and Mash both vow to never forget.[13]

Closing her eyes, Koyankskaya prepares to go to sleep when Nikitich, calling her Yaskaya, tells her to say thank you. Koyanskaya refuses to. Ritsuka tells her she doesn’t have to and tells her goodbye. Koyanskaya goes to sleep and the Special Territory is then fully condensed into a World Egg.[13]

Love is Fate, Fate is...

The heroes find themselves on the Bleached Earth, with no trace of the Special Territory to be seen.[14]

Nikitich asks Taigong where the World Egg is. Taigong answers that it’s hidden in space-time, though not as far as Imaginary Number Space. He says the egg will automatically launch without anyone’s notice once the sky is cleared of the roots of the Fantasy Trees.[14]

Ritsuka wonders, however, why Koyanskaya became a Beast if she had no love for humanity. Taigong confesses he lied earlier about Koyanskaya not caring about humanity. But while she loathed humanity and was eager for their extinction, she too loved them as a part of nature. Ritsuka and Mash believe Koyanskaya didn’t want to hate anymore, and that is why she chose to leave for the stars. Taigong then disappears, followed by Nikitich.[14]

Ibuki regrets her memories remain vague, but this experience is something she doesn’t want to forget, even when they’re back in Chaldea. Ritsuka promises to tell her about it from the beginning if she ever does.[14]

The Shadow Border arrives to pick up the expedition team. Da Vinci informs them the Storm Border will soon to pick them all up. Goredolf congratulates them on successfully subjugating Koyanskaya.[14]

It is hinted the Nikitich Chaldea fought alongside with was actually his wife. It is also revealed the original Nikitich was summoned to Russia thanks to his connection with a sun goddess shortly after Koyanskaya’s birth. The goddess celebrated her birth and considered her a child of hers. Nikitich, meanwhile, gave Koyanskaya the name Yaskaya before he disappeared, regretting he could do nothing else for the infant.[14]

Epilogue

The Chaldeans return to the Wandering Sea, only to find themselves held up at the docks for a briefing. Sion has restricted their access to the facilities for today because she is doing end of the year cleanup.[15]

Da Vinci asks Nemo Professor if Holmes rematerialized yet. Professsor confirms he has and reveals the Spirit Origin returned to normal once Koyanskaya’s signal vanished. They say Holmes is currently in the control room with Sion looking over the combat logs. Everyone heads for their rooms except for Da Vinci who returns to the Border’s computer room.[15]

Ritsuka enters their room, noticing that Fou has been staring at the ceiling this whole time. Nemo Marine suddenly enters and gives them a storage container to pack their belongings in. They seem to think everyone is moving into new rooms and that is why everyone is gathering at the docks once they’ve packed their bags. They tell Ritsuka they have thirty minutes to pack up, adding Sion said they won’t be using their old rooms anymore.[15]

Meanwhile, in the control room, Sion congratulates Chaldea on succeeding their mission, relieved one of her worries has taken care of. She then states they need the decisive spell employing the Essence of the Holy Sword. If they can devise a method of attack geared toward anti-Alien God usage, then they can finally challenge their enemy on their home turf.[15]

Holmes asks Sion if by home turf she means the Alien God will deploy a Reality Marble-like domain like Koyanskaya. He assumes that prediction is her other worry. Sion admits she actually had another worry, one she didn’t even tell Nemo. Holmes already deduced as much based on her behavior.[15]

Sion confesses there is only one factor left that she wishes to sort out before the confrontation with the Alien God. It is not to shed light on the Alien God’s true identity and nature like Holmes presumed, though, since that can only happen when they confront the Alien God. It is actually something far simpler, a matter even Holmes overlooked.[15]

Leaving the transport of the Spirit Origins to him, Sion tells Holmes that the Chaldea base is currently in a extremely perilous state. She can’t guarantee his safety with her Thought Acceleration and Memory partition alone once ten minutes pass, so she urges him to hurry and deliver the Spirit Origins to Da Vinci in the Border.[15]

Holmes questions if Sion’s inability to guarantee his safety means her personal computing power is unable to ascertain the future. He suggests using TRISMEGISTUS II if that is the case. Sion reveals however she can’t use it as its contents were moved elsewhere and are currently rebooting. Holmes immediately realizes what moving the Spirit Origin means.[15]

Sion confesses Chaldea should have suffered severe casualties during this mission, according to TRISMEGISTUS II’s prediction, going so far to conclude it would end in defeat. Koyanskaya was very much ready and willing to self-destruct to take her enemies out with her. But thanks to Taigong, Goredolf’s personal feelings, and a decisive word from Ritsuka, a peaceful resolution was reached. However, Chaldea will still be annihilated today according to TRISMEGISTUS II.[15]

An alarm suddenly sounds off, warning a gravitational fluctuation has been confirmed 3000 meters above the Wandering Sea. The Alien God, U-Olga Marie, has come to attack Chaldea directly[15]

The , has found the

The Alien God U-Olga Marie, has found the Wandering Sea

An alarm sounds off at the docks warning the Alien God has arrived and is expected to destroy the Wandering Sea with a black hole in fifteen minutes. All Chaldea personnel are urgently requested to board the Shadow Border.[15]

Mash states all Chaldea personnel have already onboard the Shadow Border. She worries Sion and Holmes aren’t at the docks yet though when Holmes arrives. He apologizes for the delay, saying the situation is dire, which he will explain later. He has the Spirit Origins and urges they leave at once.[15]

Goredolf refuses to leave with Sion, however, as he considers her a member of Chaldea. Holmes understands how he feels, but recommends prioritizing their escape for now. Sion had suggested as much. She said she’ll join them in 20 minutes after she ensures the Five Gates are firmly sealed.[15]

Ritsuka realizes that means Sion will not make it and wishes to go after her. Holmes tells them that won’t be necessary, as Sion assured him she will not die before the end. She knew from the start this would happen, so he believes she made preparations for her own escape.[15]

Goredolf concludes the enemy would have attacked the Wandering Sea eventually. Holmes concurs they would have to leave at some point, which is why the Storm Border came equipped with living quarters. Sion had intended to make the Storm Border Chaldea’s base from the start, so they could be wholly independent. The remaining Chaldeans then board the Border.[15]

Meanwhile, Sion has nearly sealed the Five Gates when a magus of the true Wandering Sea emerges from the Gate of Rebirth. He wanted to speak with her face-to-face since it will be their last meeting. With permission from his mentor, he spent enough magical energy to destroy a continent to connect the Gate of Rebirth to the modern era.[15]

He is not mad that the Wandering Sea of the 2017 will be destroyed since the true Wandering Sea exists outside space-time reachable only via the Five Gates. The Wandering Seas that manifest in each era are merely shadows of the original. Thus, it doesn’t matter what era’s Wandering Sea is destroyed since it will not affect the true Wandering Sea.

Sion concludes the Five Gates are Time Gates, allowing for communication between the true Wandering Sea and any era. The magus confirms as much being originally from the Common Era like Sion before he crossed the Gate of Rebirth at his mentor’s beckoning.[15]

He invites Sion to join the Wandering Sea, which happens only once a year for only one person. Sion declines as she still has something to do here. She assures him she will ensure the gates are closed, telling him, Fabro Rowan, to return since the Alien God isn't a concern for those of the Wandering Sea.[15]

U-Olga Marie destroying the Wandering Sea with a black hole

U-Olga Marie destroying the Wandering Sea with a black hole

After Fabro returns to the true Wandering Sea, Sion self-destructs the Wandering Sea to counteract U-Olga Marie's black hole just as it's being sucked in, thereby allowing the Chaldeans to barely escape.[15]

The Storm Border has left the North Sea and now heads for the center of the Eurasia continent. Nemo says they will continue eastward for the Pacific Ocean.[15]

Da Vinci concludes the flash of light they saw at the end was Sion self-destructing to counterattack the Alien God, which she assumes is why they're not being pursued.[15]

Goredolf worries without Sion they can neither maintain the Storm Border nor plan operations with TRISMEGISTUS II. But Sion, revealing herself to be alive, reassures him the TRISMEGISTUS II has already been moved to the Storm Border. Moving it to the ship was what the end-of-year cleanup war.[15]

Goredolf, Mash, and Ritsuka are all surprised to see Sion alive. Sion claims she has a unique composition and survived thanks to existential probability manipulation, which is in the same vein as Yu Mei-ren’s dispersion. Goredolf and Ritsuka both scold her for making them worry and not to do it again, but are relieved to see her safe. Nemo knew all along Sion would survive as she is sturdier than the average Servant.[15]

Moving on, Nemo announces from now Chaldea’s operation will be conducted from the Storm Border. They will fly haphazardly across the earth to avoid the Alien God, making landfall only for refueling and maintenance. But without a port, the Storm Border will eventually reach its limit and that limit is one more large-scale operation.[15]

Holmes agrees, as there is only one Lostbelt left anyway. Once the decisive anti-Alien God technique is complete, Chaldea will assault the seventh Lostbelt and engage U-Olga Marie, the self-proclaimed “Alien God” in battle. Goredolf agrees to assault the seventh Lostbelt, but only after they made every preparation possible.[15]

Da Vinci says while tuning the Holy Sword is important, they mustn’t forget to analyze the Alien God either. They need to know if the Alien God really is Olga Marie Animusphere. “Defeating” her is currently the only option to them, but more options may appear as they deepen their understanding of her, similar to how it was with Koyanskaya.[15]
