VanFem LEMA6

Fem's Boat Party(Casa) (フェムの船宴(カーサ), Femu no Funaen(Kāsa)?) is a weekly casino event run in the celebrity town Monaco by the Elder Title Dead Apostle Van-Fem, the fourteenth of The Twenty-seven Dead Apostle Ancestors.[1]

History

Established during the early 20th century by Van-Fem, Fem's Casa is a public gambling event which has been running for nearly a century as of 2007 aboard his ship the Joie de Vivre, where Van-Fem challenged other visitors on a weekly basis. There are multiple casino buildings installed on Joie de Vivre's streets, but the main one is L'Empire du Jeu, where Fem's Casa is held.[1]

The entry fee to participate in Fem's Casa is 1 million euros. Fem's Casa's frequency can vary depending on Van-Fem's mood, from being held several days in a row to going more than a year without occurring, but generally he holds it weekly. Winners of the event can ask Van-Fem for anything they wish, but in the century since the game's creation the number of winners can be counted on one hand.[1]

Since it is a public event, people unrelated to the World of Magecraft can participate as well, and due to the age of the event, people without knowledge of Mystery and Dead Apostles think that "Van-Fem" is a character who multiple actors have played over the years.[1]

The entire staff of L'Empire du Jeu are Dead Apostles. Van-Fem decorated his casino with "augmented reality" decorations via magecraft that are only visible to people with Magic Circuits, keeping the use of magecraft as a secret from the general public.[1]

Procedure

Fem’s Casa comes in 3 kinds of games:

The first, Authentique, is where everyone plays a regular casino game like roulette or poker. The second, Magique, is the draw of Fem's Casa, where players connect their Magic Circuits together to play an arcane game. And finally the third, Nouvelle, is where the trend-loving Van-Fem tries out new trends.

The Adventures of Lord El-Melloi II

The opening game El-Melloi II participated in was a Nouvelle game with Fem trying out escape rooms.[2]

The rules of this first game were that only 3 players are allowed to join Van-Fem's dinner table, so the first challenge was to get there. The room’s doors and windows were all locked and an hourglass spawns giving them a time limit below 20 minutes. Waver opened his participation card and both parts had a Humpty Dumpty scene hidden on the inside, and after trial and error, he found that the solution to the puzzle was that Humpty Dumpty’s lyrics mention four scores of men trying to return Humpty to his place, one score is 20, and 20 is a corner bet in European roulettes, so Waver needed to command Ergo and Flat to make corner bets in the roulette they had in their room, spin 4 times, and return the ball to its original position. Solving the puzzle opened secret staircases in both rooms. The puzzle requiring their specific team composition implies Van-Fem invented a different puzzle for each player.[2]

The second game's rules were that the players will pass to the Third Game if they reached 500 coins at the end of the day. They were all given a crocodile coin at the start, worth 100 coins, and Fem gave every player 100 coins that they could bet along with their regular casino chips in any game except the slot machines. When playing against another player, any player could declare Greed in response to an opponent's bet and bet the same value, and winning under Greed allowed a player to steal coins directly from the loser. The first three players to turn their 100 coins into 500 would advance to the Third Game. Also, every player got their 1 million Euro entry fee's worth in regular chips and lost automatically if their earnings fell below this value.[3]

For the rules of the third game, each participant would bet coins on which gladiator would win and how. There were 4 rounds per match with 3 matches in total and every player started with 500 coins. The players were shown a three-dimensional vision of the arena, and the gladiators remained anonymous for the sake of their privacy and the concealment of their spells. Regarding the earnings from each bet, the system was:

- 2x the wagered amount if the player can only correctly predict which gladiator wins.
- 3x the wagered amount if the player can correctly predict if the winner is decided by score or KO.
- 5x the wagered amount if the player correctly predict the winner wins on round 4.
- 6x the wagered amount if the player correctly predict the winner wins on round 3.
- 8x the wagered amount if the player correctly predict the winner wins on round 2.
- 10x the wagered amount if the player correctly predict the winner wins on round 1.

With the max bets being:

- 1st match: 200 coins.
- 2nd match: 1000 coins.
- 3rd match: unlimited.

Furthermore, the Casa was designed with the intention of letting players enjoy all three kinds of games. The first Game was Nouvelle and the second was Authentique, so the third was Magique, a game using magecraft, a regular arena gamble where the gladiators use magecraft would still count as Authentique. The third game being the arena was a last minute alteration, but Van-Fem still managed to prepare a tacked-on extra rule to make the game involve the player's usage of magecraft. All three players not named Van-Fem received a Rubik's Cube-like Mystic Code, pouring magical energy to turn on the cube can paralyze the exact amount of Magic Circuit used in the process. When using the cube, a players gained and instantly bet 10 coins per Magic Circuit paralyzed, and coins earned by paying Magic Circuits were allowed to go over the round's betting cap. Each player's cube could only be used once, and if they lost that round, their paralyzed Magic Circuits would never recover. If any player were to be killed during the game, the game was to be canceled with no result and all players except the killer to get their entry fees reimbursed.[4]
