The Supreme Mystic Code of the El-Melloi (エルメロイの至上礼装, Erumeroi no Shijō Reisō?) prior to Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald's Volumen Hydrargyrum is a set of three Magical Energy Reactors.[1][2]

History

The Supreme Mystic Code started its life as a naturally occuring clump of magical energy, an Ether Clump, practically a simplified wish-granter from the Age of Gods, an age when magical energy was more pronounced. It acquired a physical form, looking somewhat similar to a Fairy, and gained sentience, presumably because someone wished for it to be a living being. It died and was reborn again during the countless competitions over its possession, until its body was split into six pieces (a head, a torso, and two pairs of arms and legs) by six humans, each with a different goal: for research, for peace, for the future, for magecraft, to save the world, and for someone else. But when the Dragon of Albion bore to the earth to try and reach the Reverse Side of the World, it accidentally took with it the six humans, who died in the process, and the divided parts. Centuries later, the parts were found in the Spiritual Tomb of Albion by miners, and magi fought over it until the then-head of the El-Melloi family took possession of it, turning the parts into a trio of Magical Energy Reactors that produced an inexhaustible supply of magical energy. The Lord El-Melloi considered reuniting all six parts but decided against doing so as while it would all six together would generate even more magical energy, it would also risk the Mystic Code becoming a complete being with a sense of self.[3]

This device was the Supreme Mystic Code of the El-Melloi family, but finding it lacked artistry, a young Kayneth created Volumen Hydrargyrum to supplant it. It was still useful however, so Kayneth brought it with him to supply power to his workshop in Fuyuki. It was lost to him along with many of his other resources when Kiritsugu Emiya brought the building down.[4][1]

By the time of the events of the Fourth Fuyuki Holy Grail War in November 1994, Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald chose to bring "her" with him to the Hyatt Hotel. "She" would promptly go missing from his possession following Kiritsugu Emiya's bombing and would later be discovered by a rogue magi couple who arrived at Fuyuki to loot the area while the Holy Grail War was ongoing. The couple would then decide to lay low after etabilishing a Magical Workshop in the Semina Apartments and spend the next seven years working to fully restore "her". The restored being took the form of a blonde child with pointed elf-like ears that would later be known as the "Little Red Riding Hood".[3]

In her current state, the Little Red Riding Hood was akin to that of a living Holy Grail due to circulating immense amounts of magical energy that was comparable to the magical energy stored within Fuyuki's own Leyline and was capable of limitlessly granting wishes but gradually influenced the minds of the couple into wanting to make a wish to her. As a result, the couple fought nonstop and regularly asked the "Little Red Riding Hood" for wishes and cyclically drove her away out of fear before then bringing her back out of addiction and abusing her with magical tools.[3]

During these periods that she was driven away by the couple, she took to wearing a red hood to hide her hair and ears and sometimes requested her neighbor to press the elevator button for her.[5] By August 2003, the "Little Red Riding Hood" produced a weapon resembling that of an enchanted sword and the mage couple ending up killing each other trying to fight over it which resulted in the infamous "family suicide". This would become the inspiration for the Semina Apartments ghost story.[5][3]
