TitaniaWP (ティターニア?) is the wife of Oberon in William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's DreamWP.

Profile

Background

Differing from Oberon who has a mythological background outside Shakespeare's work, Titania was a fictional figure solely created by Shakespeare, matching no name in traditional fairy history. She may have been named as a corruption of the word Titan from Greek mythology.[1] She was a composite inspired by Mab, Diana, and Titan.[2] As a creation of fiction, Oberon believes that she does not exist within Proper Human History as someone he could ever meet.[3]'

Within the story of A Midsummer Night's Dream, Titania is the queen of the fairies, estranged from Oberon due to her possession of a changeling she refuses to give up to Oberon. In an attempt to make her give up, Oberon concocts a magical potion where the affected falls in love with the first living being they see upon waking. Through his machinations, the human LysanderWP is accidentally affected as well, leading to the main plot of the story.[1]

Personality

Oberon states that "any woman who could forgive [Oberon's] selfishness would only exist in fiction."[1] As she alone is the only person who could ever love Oberon, he wishes to meet her, despite it being impossible.[3]

Role

Fate/Grand Order

Abilities

Titania, due to being a composite existence, would display a ranking in the Divinity Skill.[2]
