<p>Heroic Spirits and the Throne of Heroes exist outside of the time axis and the different timelines and all that, yes. However, Fate/EXTRA and its sequels are not summoning from the Throne of Heroes, but the records of the Moon Cell so there isn't any direct continuity between the EXTRA versions of the Servants and the FSN versions, with the exception of Artoria due to her unique summoning circumstances in FSN. </p><p>The Wiki actually <i>did</i> have separate pages for the EXTRA versions of Cu Chulainn and Karna until very recently and still has a separate page for Gilgamesh. Honestly, I think merging the Cu and Karna pages was a strange move and I don't...entirely see the logic behind it. If we are merging alternate versions of characters because they are <i>technically</i> the same person, we should probably do the same for all of these GO variants that are basically "the exact same character, but in a different class" or "the same character, but younger". (Saber Lily was even merged with Artoria proper until GO despite GO being clear they are the same character at different points in life) </p><p>I haven't watched the anime up to that point (if it's gotten there), but if I recall, the Giles who appears initially appears as Jeanne knew him (using the design that GO would later use as his Saber design) and then 'morphs' into his Caster design to show how depraved he became. </p>

But thanks for answering that, that is what I thought considering Fate/Labyrinth uses servants from other works (including Extra). Considering Kiritsugu, Irisviel, Kirei, and others now have separate articles for their appearance in Fate/kaleid it might be a good time to suggest that for Cu Chulainn and Karna to have their separate pages restored as well. </p>

<p>^Otherarrow. </p><p>While the first games made it seemed that the Servants were created by the records of the MoonCell, as revealed in Extella thats not the case, they still originate from the Throne and are summoned from it, all the Moon Cell does is give them a virtual body. So yeah Servants like Cu and Gil are still the same as their previous incarnations, with aome hinting that they do remember stuff from SN. Thats the reason why the pages merge, because the're the same characters with the exception of that being Nameless and Gil still keeps his page because he isnt listed under a class. </p>

<p>Extella reveals no such thing, and I say this as someone who has played it through to completion (not to mention, this would contradict things said explicitly in EXTRA and CCC). At most, Nameless and Artoria recognize each other explicitly because they met in their natural lifespans. There are some other unexplained instances of FSN nods that probably shouldn't be there (Medusa recognizes the city area as Fuyuki and Artoria and Gilgamesh know who each other are) but these are by no means universal between the entire cast of returning characters (Cu Chulainn doesn't show any recognition of any of the other FSN characters, for example, Iskander doesn't recognize Artoria or Gilgamesh, Jeanne doesn't know Karna, etc) and should probably be handwaved away as just fanservice or undisclosed past events in the EXTRA timeline. </p><p>Not to mention, the entire different summoning sources and differences in how summoning works is how the EXTRA games are able to have continuity between Servant summonings at all, as summoning from the Throne is stated to explicitly not retain memories from prior summonings due to the fact that you are basically summoning a clone of the hero in the Throne and not the hero themselves (again, Artoria is an explicit exception due to her unique circumstances). Meanwhile, Servants summoned via the Moon Cell retain memories of past summonings via undisclosed means (likely because it's the same "archive" of the hero being summoned each time? But I speculate) </p><p>And the "but they are the same characters" thing doesn't hold up when we've kept split Gilgamesh and GO variant Servants and even the Prototype Servants despite use of them in fiction making it abundantly clear that the narrative considers them the same person. (For example, GO makes it extremely clear that Caster Cu is the same person as FSN Lancer Cu and his current different class is due to the Singularity he is found in; Proto Cu is likewise mentioned serveral times as being the same and any differences between the two are due to Proto Cu being younger.) </p><p>Tl;DR version: The narrative treats the idea of "summoning continuity" between FSN and EXTRA in Extella inconsistently and honestly we should probably not be putting too much stock in fan service nods that contradict explict setting details that has been spelled out. How the wiki treats "duplicate" characters has been inconsistant, we've merged and split different incarnations of the same character for reasons that are increasingly arbitrary, espcially when the games themselves don't seem to care. As far as Nasu is concern, Cu Chulainn is Cu Chulainn and that's all there is. </p><p>EDIT: If it seems like I am arguing two completely different points, it's because...I honestly kinda am. The wiki needs to either treat each "appearance" of a character by continuity or incarnation separately or treat them all as the same person. Doing this inconsistent half-way between approach is confusing and doesn't really set a standard for how future appearances of characters should be handled. </p>
