Cybele

Does Cybele work like a conceptual weapon by "writing the concept" onto the soul or rather does it just work like petrification magecraft. Since one can rid of it's effect by simply running prana through her magic circuits, I assume it's the latter but still but running prana through your magic circuits which are connected to your soul you may also be washing the interference away. So yea.

It's actually works like petrification magecraft, just on much much higher level, hence why only servants are able handle it. However while it's work's similiar to magecraft it's not an actual spell hence why in order to survive it a servant relies on their Mana Statistic as oppose to their Magic Resistance.

Independent Action

Isn't Independent Action a Class Skill, rather than Personal Skill? As such, why is it under Personal Skills?

And as a subquestion, if Class Skills for other Servants are attached to Servants of an incorrect Class ((Independent Action of the Archer Class on a Rider Servant)), then is it possible other Class skills can also fall into Personal Skills in the same manner? ((Mad Enhancement on a Saber, or Territory Creation on an Assassin, something like that.)) Zahadrin (talk) 03:15, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

Independant Action is a Class Skill solely of the Archer Class, so a Servant of that class is bound to have some score in it. Having said this it doesn't make it impossible for other Servants to manifest it. It's a case of all Archers have Independant Action, but not all Servants with Independant Action are Archers, if that makes sense.

Basically put, it's only a Class skill when an Archer has it, if another servant has it it's a personal skill. Perhaps there's a bonus to its rank if the Servant is an Archer, creating a difference in the two, after all, Medusa is the only one to manifest a class skill as a personal skill and her score in it is laughable.

Still, I remember old data on the wiki claiming that at a time Mad Enhancement could be applied to all servants, its initial purpose being to allow a Master to enhance a weak servant, but was proved a flaw in the rules as a Master could then use it to enhance an already powerful servant so it was then limited solely to the Berserker class, but since I can no longer find that data I can't tell you the reliability of it.

If nothing else, I can confirm that Servants of all classes can possess abilities similar to Class skills. For example -:

  • Li Shuwen and Kojiro Sasaki, while both Assassins, neither possessed an actual ability for Presence Concealment, but both had Ki based skills that mimicked it's features.
  • Nero's Aestus Domus Areus creates a space she was affiliated in life, while the power is a whole other matter, it does resemble a Caster's territory creation, being a recreation of a real space and not manifesting an inner world like a Reality Marble.

In the same vein of thought, a Servant of a certain class will not necessarily possess a class skill and while I'm pretty sure you wouldn't find an Archer without Independant Action, I did just bring up two Assassins without Presence Concealment and both Tamamo-no-mae and Gille De Rais has lost access to their class skills for various reasons. I'm afraid you're mistaken about Li Shuwen and Sasaki. Both possess Presence Consealment, and Sasaki does have a Rank in it, thus implying he can use it. Li Shuwen, however, is closer similar to Gilles who lost his Item Creation Skill, in the fact he can't access it because he never used such an action during life, having something already to supliment the purpose of Presence Consealment. Tamamo did not lose her Territory Creation, but rather has trouble using it instead, and also chooses not to use her two Skills, Witchcraft and Shapeshift, due to past experience. This does not mean she does not have access to any of her three Skills.

In reference to Nero, her Aestus Domus Aurea is a Noble Phantasm that is tied to her history, so as it is not a skill, I don't think it quite relates to this perdicament, does it? Zahadrin (talk) 04:30, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

Bath

From article:

It is possible to cancel the effect if it has not reached a certain point by closing her eyes. In the case of a lessened effect like when Shirou accidentally walks on her bathing, it starts to spread up his legs and is too far gone to simply close her eyes, but she is able to cancel the effect by sealing them with Breaker Gorgon. It takes some time for the petrification to recede, and she mentions that it would have been bad had it affected his heart.

Does anyone know when this happens in the game? Any screenshots? talk2ty 13:49, February 23, 2015 (UTC)

This page has stuff in it that is just flatly wrong and makes me think that some of the people who wrote it never read the VN. Like the bit where it states she grafted Archer's arm onto Shirou: that flat out never happens. Kotomine did that. MrTroika (talk) 06:52, December 2, 2018 (UTC)
