After she boasts about how famous and recognizable she is, Shirou mistakes her for King Arthur, much to her annoyance. While trying to explain her identity, Shirou points out that she quoted Napoleon, irritating her further. Jeanne tries to impress Shirou with her flag Noble Phantasm but Shirou explains that a sword that shoots beams is easier to understand. The two end up battling, in which Shirou emerges the victor. She cries, saying she plans to never come back to Japan.

When Shirou first meets Bazett, he initially mistakes her for a man. Bazett, calling herself "the temp Heroic Spirit FRAGA", explains that she was dispatched by the Heroic Spirit Association in order to save the world from crisis, and that out of all the parallel worlds, the Capsule Servants only exist in this one. After she orders Shirou to give her all of his servants, he is skeptical about her identity and the two end up battling, with Shirou emerging victorious. After Shirou defeats her he promises her that in the next Holy Grail War he'll summon her.

She wrangles Shirou into helping her advertise her new business venture, the pair take to the streets to hand out fliers for the TOHSAKA Heroic Spirit Service, with the younger protagonist deciding it was better not to point out how slimy her plan was.
