The PictsWP (ピクト, Pikuto?) were a Scottish tribe during the time of King Arthur.
Characteristics
Known in history as a "mysterious people" that resided primarily in Scotland, Mordred talks about them in the same breath as Phantasmal Species, and describes them as something "far beyond" a simple barbarian tribe, comparing them to aliens from a modern sci-fi movie. While Chaldea Security Organization's staff takes the remark as a joke, Mordred claims she is serious.[1] Saber Alter describes them as rowdy.[2] They remind Lucius Tiberius of the stories of traces of power from the Age of Gods that remain on the British Isles.[3] According to one of the two Prelatis, the King of the Picts physically resembles Huwawa, a Giant, and might be mistaken for Cath Pulg or ORT.[4]
Pict Warriors (ピクトウォーリア, Pikuto Wōria?) as depicted in Fate/Grand Order indeed do not appear to be normal humans. They have overlong arms, as well as colored skin and markings reminiscent of the real-world historical tribe's eponymous warpaint and tattoos. They are completely nude other than their helmets, seemingly lacking genitals. The Pict Warriors are also called "Faerie Pikemen" and used interchangeably with the Fae,[5][6] as well as possess the Fae trait.[7]
History
The Picts invaded England from the north, eventually being driven away after King Arthur united a force of warring feudal lords.[8]
Role
Fate/Grand Order
Fae Round Table Domain: Avalon le Fae
There are Picts among Cnoc na Riabh's soldiers in the English Lostbelt.[9]
Development
Pict enemies initially appeared in Fate/Grand Order in Gaius Julius Caesar's strengthening quest, but a later update replaced the Picts in that quest with Celtic soldiers instead.
The Picts were planned to appear in the Camelot Singularity, summoned by Nitocris as the "Absolute Camelot Killing-men" to battle the Lion King's forces. However, their design could not be finalized in time, and so they were cut from the story.[10]
