ALL POSTSQuestion about the whole Grail System
<p>I am really confused how this whole Grail System works since English is not my mother tongue and im having a hard time understanding all the Things about the Grail. What actually is the difference of the Lesser Grail and the Holy Grail and why can it also grant wishes? I always thought the Holy Grail is used to activate the Greater Grail and have any wish granted. Can someone please explain simply how it works and how the root is connected to it? Thanks in advance!

</p><p>The Greater Grail is a sort of "prana battery", that charges itself on the Ley Line (Earth's prana, in a way). Once it's filled, its prana is used to summon the Servants from the Throne of Heroes.
</p><p>The Lesser Grail (a.k.a. Justeaze and descendants) is a recipient in which the fallen Servants' souls are gathered. Once it's enough filled (it doesn't need all the seven Servant souls) it can be used to materialize the Hoy Grail.
</p><p>The Holy Grail is a "door" to Akasha... let's summarize Akasha as bottomless well filled to the brim with prana - so, an infinite amount of prana. Thanks to that, the winner of the Holy Grail War can perform any kind of magic, even those that normally no one can do (in the same way a Servant can teleport thanks to the aid of the a Command Spell, while teleportation is a kind of magic no one can usually do). The "miracle" is this: the fact that thanks to the infinite mana reserve you can became temporarily "omnipotent"

<p>As far as I know yes, the Greater Grail "only" serves the purpose of storing prana and later aid the Masters in summoning the Servant.
</p><p>For the first, second and so on magic, those are basically unrelated to the Holy Grail War. In short, there are some people who can access to Akasha's power even whitout the aid of the Grail (i.e. Schweinorg, the teacher of the three who set up the first Holy Grail War ritual). Thanks to that they devised some "greater magic" that uses this power (i.e. time travel). The first, second... fifth magic are just that

<p>Akasha isn't an infinite well of energy. It's the Root of the universe, a complete record of the entire universe, past, present, and all possible timelines. Accessing it basically gives you admin access on the laws of physics in the universe, and you can change what's written in the Root.
</p><p>The Greater Grail is the system that runs the Grail War, does the summoning and everything. It does that by charging up energy from the land and starts a new war in around 60 years (or 10 for the fifth Grail War). The Lesser Grail is the recipient that gathers the energy left from the souls of defeated Servants.
</p><p>The point of the entire system is to accumulate enough of that energy to open a hole to the Akasha by brute force. The Lesser Grail stores that energy, the Greater Grail makes the system work. But since you have all that energy, at this point you can basically do anything you want even before opening a hole to the Akasha. This isn't really a function of either the Greater or Lesser Grail, it's just something you can do when you have such crazy amounts of energy stored.
</p><p>The five magics have nothing to do with the Grail War, apart from the fact that the guys who created the Grail system did so because they wanted to recover the Third Magic. But that was just an effect they could achieve by reaching the Akasha.
