<p>I think Nasu has mentioned somewhere that none of the paths in FSN lead to him becoming EMIYA, but all of them have a small percent chance of it happening. But wishy washy Nasu answer aside, I'd say nah. </p>

<p>That was my thoughts as well. (Tosahka being with him was a pretty significant point of difference). Kinda just wanted to see if the fact we see Archer at the end, meant maybe it was inevitable that he'd still end up as Archer. </p>

<p>Since Archer as a Heroic Spirit is removed from the time axis, any path that shirou takes will not affect his existence. Thus, while shirou and archer share the same past and identity, they can be thought as seperate existences in a sense. But, whether or not Shirou becomes a guardian hinges on if he gives into despair and forms a contract with Alaya or not. That's two cents about it at least. </p>

<p>Alaya is the name given to the Counter/Deterrent Force of humanity; referred more often as the world. It is what Archer made a contract with during his lifetime, but said contract is paid with eternal servitude as a guardian after death. </p>
