The original, handwritten manuscript of "The Call of Cthulhu," stained with ink and bearing his frantic marginalia. Alternatively, a letter of rejection from a publisher, filled with his bitter and cynical annotations.
﹂・・・ History ・・・﹁
Howard Phillips Lovecraft(1890-1937) was a reclusive American author of weird and horror fiction. In life, he was a man out of time, plagued by financial hardship, poor health, and a deep-seated xenophobia. His worldview, known as "Cosmicism," posits that human life, religion, and morality are meaningless in the context of a vast, incomprehensible universe.
Upon his death, his legend did not fade. Instead, his writings—the Necronomicon, the tales of the Great Old Ones, and the pantheon of cosmic entities—began to seep into the foundation of the Human Order itself. The Throne of Heroes, a record of all human achievement, was subtly contaminated by his fictional mythology. Through a paradoxical process, the man who dreamed of the monsters began to be conflated with the monsters he dreamed of. He is not a "writer" Servant in the vein of Shakespeare or Andersen; he is a catalyst, a living conduit for the very cosmic horrors he described. His Noble Phantasm is not a story he wrote, but a fragment of the universe he believed in, made real through his profound despair and insight.

Caster is a man of profound contradictions. On the surface, he is polite, erudite, and painfully formal, a relic of a bygone era. He can hold long, fascinating conversations about architecture, astronomy, and history. However, this facade is a brittle shell over a core of absolute nihilism. He views human relationships, aspirations, and societies with detached, anthropological curiosity, seeing them as fleeting and ultimately pointless patterns.
He is not actively cruel; he is simply indifferent. Exposing others to the "truth" of the cosmos is, to him, an act of intellectual honesty, not malice. He would drive a man insane with a vision of Azathoth not out of hatred, but to show him a "more accurate" perspective of reality.
Likes/Loves: The crisp night air of New England, quiet libraries, classical music, astronomy, the "purity" of 18th-century Anglo-Saxon culture (a manifestation of his historical xenophobia as a Skill), writing letters.
Dislikes/Hates:The sea and its depths, seafood, modernity, "foreign" influences (a deeply ingrained flaw in his Spirit Origin), the wilful ignorance of humanity, the concept of a benevolent god.
﹂・・・ Class Skills ・・・﹁
· Item Construction (False) (C): Normally the skill to manufacture magical items. For Caster, this does not involve crafting physical objects, but "writing" fragments of cosmic truth into reality. He can inscribe words that temporarily alter local physics, create bounded fields that induce dread and paranoia, or manifest minor, temporary phantasmal creatures from his stories as familiars. The "False" designation comes from the fact that he is not truly creating, but rather "revealing" what is already there, just out of phase with human perception.
· Territory Creation (EX): The ability to build a special terrain that is advantageous to oneself as a Magus. Caster does not create a "Workshop," but a "Sanctum of Madness." This area passively warps space and perception, causing non-Euclidean geometry, whispering voices, and the gradual erosion of a visitor's sanity. At its center, it becomes a bridge to the void where the Great Old Ones dream.
﹂・・・ Personal Skills ・・・﹁
· Pioneer of the Stars (EX): A unique skill given to those who paved the way for the future of all mankind. Lovecraft's "achievement" was the opposite; he did not open a new path, but rather unveiled the abyss at the end of all paths. His literature irrevocably altered humanity's perception of its own place in the cosmos, planting the seeds of existential dread that would flourish in the 20th century and beyond. This skill allows him to render "impossible" events, such as the direct intervention of cosmic entities, into plausible occurrences, drastically lowering the "luck" required for humanity to survive.
· Innocence of the Abyss (A): A mental protection skill born from a worldview so absolute that it cannot be corrupted by conventional means. Lovecraft's nihilism is a form of purity. Mental interference magecraft, illusions, and even most forms of charisma are rendered useless against him. He views them as mere "patterns" of a meaningless reality. However, this same skill makes him utterly vulnerable to anything that embodies genuine, boundless "hope" or "love," concepts he considers the ultimate human delusions.
· Cosmic Horror (A++): A composite skill representing his life's work and philosophy. It combines the effects of Mental Pollution, Mental Attack, and a form of Revelation that grants knowledge of the cosmos's true, terrifying nature. Merely being in his presence imposes a sanity check on others. Direct exposure to his writings or his Noble Phantasm can inflict instant [Madness Enhancement] or even spiritual collapse, as the target's mind is forced to comprehend its own infinitesimal insignificance.
﹂・・・ Noble Phantasms ・・・﹁
• Necronomicon: The Book of Dead Names That Never Was (Anti-Humanity)
· Rank: EX
· Type: Anti-Unit / Anti-World
The crystallization of Lovecraft's legend, not as a book he referenced, but as a book he authored into the Throne of Heroes. It is not a physical tome he carries, but a reality-marring phenomenon activated by his incantations. When he calls upon its true name, he does not summon a creature; he imposes a truth.
The world around him is temporarily overwritten by the "reality" of the Cthulhu Mythos. The sky bleeds into impossible colors, geometry becomes hostile, and the air fills with the maddening flutes of the court of Azathoth. Within this bounded reality, the "Laws of the Earth" are suspended, and the "Laws of the Outer Gods" take hold. It is a World Egg that incubates not life, but absolute despair.
At its most focused, it can manifest a single, terrible concept—such as the "Color Out of Space" to drain all life and mana, or the psychic presence of Cthulhu itself to shatter the minds of all who perceive it. However, maintaining this Phantasm is a tremendous strain, even for Caster, and its effects are as perilous to him as they are to his enemies, for he is not a master of this cosmos, merely its most lucid dreamer.
