Tbh, it depends. Though I will say, as kinda face of people who joined due to the second one (but also third, memes and etc.), it's more that. Sure, there are some... powerscaling bs that new ones probably heard and got to know about Fate rn or due to Fate/Strange Fake anime that's coming but writing is very good and interesting, especially the servants and their small changes they may have, most of the time at least. It has interesting plots, loving characters, servants with interesting changes or way they were put in Fate. And of course, there is also Astolfo.
I would say the franchise is just well-written masterpiece, at least when it can. The powerscaling mostly comes due to how, for example, planets are scaled due to the textures and etc. that are essential world-building pieces and other things but is just good-made franchies, at least when they don't fuck-up too hard with things (Coughs. Karna and Arjuna's personalities. Coughs)
